Greetings,

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself: I'd been smoking for the past 12 years (pack-a-day) and just began vaping as of Jan 21st, having been "analog" free ever since. To make a long story short, I've seen (like so many others have) the first hand effects of smoking on multiple loved-ones' health and finally made the conscious decision that it was not a path I wanted to choose to venture down myself. I had tried seriously quitting approx. 4 times over the past 3-4 years; I had tried Chantix, "the gum", cold turkey, but I eventually always ended up back where I started. This time has been much different, and in a positive way. Although it's only been 11 days, I already feel that I can breathe better, have less sinus congestion and issues, and overall have more energy than when I was smoking.

As for as my setup, I had started with a Blu starter pack. After my "awakening" 2 days later, I ordered my first eGo setup and e-juice. I'm currently using an eGO Twist with 2 Mini Protank II's (for quick-swapping different flavors). I'm still too green to venture into mods as of yet, but maybe someday.

Speaking of green, I do have to give a bit of a shout-out to GrimmGreen for his highly informative and humorous (we're laughing with you, not at you Nick) videos and reviews. As a generalization to the vaping community, it's great that there's so many people willing to help, share, and teach.

Thanks and take care,

- Eric (Beast)

Welcome to the family Beast!
Great story... we all started somewhere and what you're using now is an excellent way to get your feet wet! Don't be in too much of a rush to get into the advanced stuff, like you said, there is plenty of time for that. Just sit back and enjoy and when you're ready to venture deeper into the advanced stuff, we're ready to help!

Enjoy your kit, enjoy the health benefits, and enjoy saving some cash :)

Oh, and welcome!

Mods etc come when you need/want them to come, a massive collection of info on here if you ever take the plunge. Keeping off the smokes is No.1, and sounds like you have that cracked already, so kudos, and enjoy!

Welcome Eric! You told my story. I got a Blu starter kit, decided it was too fiddly, but maybe e-cigs would work. Went to the local vape shop and got an ego starter kit and some juice. Success! I'm not only NOT smoking, I'm having fun vaping.

Welcome to ECF, Eric! It's an eerily familiar story, but more importantly, a familiar success story! Congratulations on being smoke free! That's pretty much how it happened for me, too, practically had to force those final ciggies down once I got into a good setup. In my three prior quits, it's never been this easy. Good on you for finding us!

You'll be just fine with that setup, don't feel pressured to get into mods just because a lot of folks use them here. There's a difference, for the better, but I still find myself puffing on my VV eGo's more often than I do the mod. But, I'm aiming for RDA's/RBA's, so it made sense to get into something a little more capable. You'll know if you want to go there.

Again, welcome! Enjoy the party!

I am new, too--few days on the forum and a couple of weeks vaping. Loving it and not yet feeling the need to move onward and upward. So far just thankful (very!) to have stopped smoking. I have been smoking most of my adult life minus a few years here and there that I stopped for awhile and that adds up to about 40 years or so. Haven't felt the need for even one cig since I started with e-cigs. Yay for you, and for me, and for all the other new folks who are moving away from death's door. And more thanks to all the people here to help and guide the newbies and their wonderful banners that show how long they have been smoke free, which makes me know we can do it too!!!
