I've purchased a few Provarii from the classified ads. Some were perfect and the others were beaters. I have a dragon mini purchased new in stores. I find myself loving the beaters more over the new ones. I noticed the firing button on the older ones looks so glossy as if it's been polished by your finger with all the use. I like that! I love the way the black has worn off this version 2 that I just received. I keep my dragon in the box hidden away in a drawer. I'm afraid to use it because it is too pretty! I used it a few times but now I think I might have to sell it. I'm not the kind of person that keeps something tucked away for special occasions. If I have something, I am going to use it and enjoy it! For some reason I am having trouble using the dragon. :(

Which do you like to use? Your new Provari or your older ones? Why?

I love my old and new ones. I tend to use my newest ones more simply because they are new toys. I actually just got a new black and white hybrid in and its been in use since I opened it. I love them all though. I will never sale any of my ProVaris. If I were you I'd use it. It's shiny and pretty, but you purchased it to use it. Enjoy it. :p

I love the look of honest wear on a well cared for product. Your example of the firing button worn smooth over time is a good one. Or areas of finish worn smooth over time from holding it in the same manner.

But I very much dislike wear caused by carelessness or neglect. If half the paint is missing because someone threw it around like a $2.00 Harbor Freight screwdriver, I just don't find that attractive.

I use a pair of polished ProVaris (same finish as your Dragon). One of them goes everywhere with me, but no worries as I try to be reasonably careful.

I only have my new ProVari...I carry it in a sleeve on a lanyard everywhere I go, but sometimes I get a little over enthusiastic while doing something, and bounce it off of things sometimes  still works great, but the cerakote/metallic bronze is coming off around the bottom edge of the extender cap.

No plans on ever getting rid of it though :D

I only have one Provari - a satin silver 2.5 - but now that I'm starting to beat it up a little bit I love it even more than I did when I first opened it. Over time I imagine it will acquire a patina of sorts, like a white gold engagement ring that shows its age. Love it.

I started looking at mine, and the oldest is a White mini V2 (my first) I purchased off the classies (16 months ago)...and it still looks as good as it did the day I got it. There are only a very few minute flaws on the finish other than the fact it wasn't "white" white any longer. I received the extension with it and the color difference is really noticeable. But even the printed ProVari mini on the side is still clean and clear.

My Bronze is over a year old and still looks perfect - no wraps or leather holsters.

Some of the newer "beaters" I see on the classies really surprise me on how they wear so quickly - I don't baby mine, but don't abuse them either.

I did have to look at mine though....and some of my buttons are clear now instead of frosty looking.

The only one of mine that is showing any wear at all is the satin black (my first one). Nothing drastic--just showing wear around the teardrops where I hold it. I think the regular wear 'look' adds a little character--I like it.

The Polished has a few surface scratches that could be buffed out.

The Satin Silvers look like they haven't been used.

The White actually looks great and I use it a lot, especially out and about and at dog events, because my Phiniac tanks have black paw prints and one with a black sheepdog. I am amazed that it stays in such great condition.

The Bronze is still in pristine condition.

The Stealth doesn't have a single mark on it.

The latest addition the Gunmetal just has fingerprints on it at the moment! :)

All of mine are a year or less in age. I got my very first one last June.
