I mainly use MVP 2's and started with ego's when I started vaping. I've never owned a "cigalike" kit. After recieving a sample White Cloud Fling from a local vendor, I found that I actually missed the small form factor of cigarettes, even if I don't miss the smell and taste of them. My husband got a sample too, and immediately asked me to research a cigalike kit for himself. He apparently gets embarassed to be seen with his iTaste VV v3 in public, and wanted a cigalike for out of the house. So, I sent away to several companies that offered sample disposable cigs. I also purchased a couple of inexpensive starter type kits to see which was best. One was from Bedford Slims, a local, Brooklyn based company.
First off, I admit I placed an order from them strictly because of the mustaches on everything, and the pretty artwork on some of their batteries. I really wasn't looking into cigalikes for performance after all, so I focused more on accessorizing. At least, for myself anyway. Other kits I bought for hubby to try out, as he'd likely be using cigalikes more then myself. I can't really comment on the performance of Bedford Slims, as I just got them a couple of hours ago, and just started vaping one a minute ago. I can say this, I ordered 24 mg nic, a level above what I normally vape at because I knew from reading these forums that that going a level up with cigalikes can sometimes help with a lack of throat hit from them. It seems to have worked. I'm pretty happy with the vape for what these are. What makes me happier for this particular purchase, and a large part of the reason I bought them, was the light up LED tip. It's a black tip, with a white LED cut out in the shape of a mustache. LOVE IT. I'm sure it wouldn't be for everyone, but I got a kick out of it.
The liquid is pretty good and tasty. I got a pack of cartos filled with Root beer, which is apparently a limited time offer. The cartos have the soft, removable tips, which is a plus in my book. That means I can refill with my own liquid, and I don't have to toss one when they run out. According to customer service, they're coming out with their own liquid line, in their own bottles soon, and I am definately going to buy some more Root Beer if they have it. I just ordered Dark Roast today, since I was happy with the batteries and the Root Beer. It has actual caffeine in it apparently, and i can't wait to try it.
Now, here is where the company truly shines. They sent me more then what I ordered! I ordered one of their limited edition, art batteries - Aimee Wilder's "Clouds" and their black plaid one. What I got was a total of four batteries. Apparently, as the artist's battery was a limited edition, they noticed that they weren't performing as well as they should, and they wanted to be sure that I had back up, and that I experienced what their batteries really are like. So, they sent me what I ordered, and the extras! At first, when I opened the package I was pretty confused so I emailed customer service to ask about the extras. The response was immediate! So, if you're looking around for a cute cigalike, check out Bedford Slims. Especially when their bottled liquid comes out.
