Hello to everyone. I have been smoking just shy of a pack a day of analogs for 20+ years. I have to put the analogs down for upcoming surgery and have been wanting to quit for good anyway. Surprisingly, it was my primary care physician of 9 years who recommended trying e-cigs. He was the one who introduced me to the word, "vaping".

So, I began my online investigation into this new world and found myself totally overwhelmed by the choices. Thank God, I found this forum (which was initially overwhelming) and like to research because I would have ended up blowing my money on a piece of junk. I just placed my order for the Volcano Inferno (tube tank), some extra o-rings, a button cover and Sweet Tart~16mg~e-liquid. I added 2 Day FedEx shipping so I'm hoping to have it by Wednesday.

My thought process at this point is that I will alternate between analogs and the PV to get my "fix" in the first few days. My hope is that I will be turned off by the taste of the analogs and go 100% on the PV. Eventually, I would like to step down to a lower mg level of nicotine and at some time in the future to no nicotine at all. I have no idea if vaping will become a long term activity. I guess I would not be opposed to it but honestly, I'd rather save my money and not use the PV for recreational use once my addiction to nicotine and the "hand to mouth" habit is gone. But, I'm getting WAY too far ahead of myself. I'll just take it as it comes.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for all your questions and answers in the many threads I read before ordering. It helped me to decipher the lingo and discover that I didn't want to start with a basic beginner's kit. I nearly went all the way to the Lavatube, but that was just a bit out of my price range and seemed far too large to start with. Now, to start investigating in the juice/liquid forum to find good vendors that sell sample packs.

Congrats on your decision and welcome to the forums! FYI Vapebash (a big vape meet with 100s of people from all across the country) is being held in Chicago this year April 10-13th. If you get a chance Id highly recommend going. You get to hang out with some great people, try a ton of new juices and products and learn a lot as well.

Greetings fellow Central Illinoisan! Pretty much the same situation here, 20+ years of analogs UNTIL Dec. 19. Bought a pack on the morning of 17th, rotated between the analog and the e-cig and smoked nine. Did the same thing on the 18th, and on the 19th I hammered down the last two in the morning after I woke up. Haven't touched one since, and if I can quit, anyone can.

Good luck!

Just received the Evic from Joyetech.

Worked fine the first day with a setting of 3.9V but I didn't noticed the Wattage Setting.

I put it on Charge over night and went to use it today. With the same 3.9V I couldn't get a consistent Vape.

Went into the settings and up the Wattage. Still no consistant Vape and then the Overheating Symbol kept showing up.

I admit I'm a Newb when it comes to Wattage and Voltage Settings but I either lost the proper combination or the Evic is the Screwy one.

I'm using an 1.8 Ohm Clearomizer and if anyone could set me straight would be very helpful.

Happy and Prosperous New Year to all.
