Hi everyone!

I've been lurking around for a few days. Decided I should come and say hi. :D

I'm new to vaping and am waiting for a Volt kit to arrive. I'm hoping my husband and I will both like it and will be able to stop smoking. I've only ordered one kit for now to see how we like it. Sounds like I'll be wishing I'd ordered two kits to start with. LOL

I have already ordered juices from two different venders. LOL I'm thinking about the drip tips. Still need to figure those out though. Anyone know if the Volt is a 510?? or 808?? Or if the drip tips will fit on either..the number thing does have me a little lost.

Blue, the Volt is a KR808 thread but 510 drip tips will fit the 808 cartos

welcome, and hope you like the Volt -- I just bought some Volt batts as well. Don't worry too much yet about how many kits you have, try the volt for a couple days and see if it gives you what you need. You don't have to quit smoking all at once to try out vaping, and with two little batteries it is probably impossible :)
If it works for you then go ahead and buy a few backup batteries. If you need something more powerful, you can look into larger models without having spent a whole boatload of cash. Volts are 808 based.

You will be fighting over the batteries for those first few days, though :)

:banana:Major Welcome to both of you!

What I found was that it's Very Easy to buy Way too much stuff Way too fast.

It's the Financial Curve (Cart) getting in front of the Educational/Experiential Curve (Horse).

Buy Only what you need for the moment, because from day to day in the beginning, you will be learning new things very rapidly which will (heavily) influence your purchase decisions.

Basically, you'll buy something only to learn 2 days later that there was something much better available but you pulled the trigger too fast.

You bought a Volt. That's a FANTASTIC first step.
A lot of people start out far worse than you have done.

Settle into the Volt for a few days to a week and just keep reading and asking so the next time you purchase, you'll be making an informed purchase like you did with the Volt.

Knowledge in this game means saving money because you buy what you need and not what you didn't need but found out two days too late...

The volt is very good to start with. If you want to step up later to a larger battery you can get an Echo. They have 808 threads and are an automatic. You can get 650 or 1300 auto batteries and with 3ml cartos, you can also use your Volt cartos with them as well. I have both the Volt and the Echo and like them both.

You can get a 650 or 1300 Echo kit with 6 cartos and a drip tip for 45.00 here. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...old-has-echo-e-cartomizers-7.html#post3514317

Welcome to the vaping community. Bluemoonjo, once you do get your device give it a go, my first day vaping was also my last day smoking. It can be done. I smoked for over 20 years and havnt felt this liberated. ever. You have made the hardest step already, deciding that you are ready to change. You will have questions. Talk to your vendor(s). Talk to us. We all will do our best to help you however we can.
Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah the two days later thing .... LOL

I do think the Volt will be nice and easy for me...at home all day.
But the husband does heating and air, so he is in a work van a lot during the day. And for us at least, getting in the car is a trigger to light up, whether we really need a smoke or not. yk lol So he will definitely need more Volt batteries, or a stronger one (eGo?? I'm thinking).

Wasn't my smartest moment ordering two batteries for us to share. :D But then again I didn't want to order to many in case he didn't like it. (I'm convinced I'll like it LOL)

The ego has completely different threads than the Volt. The Echo has the same threads as the Volt and you can interchange equipment including chargers and cartos.

OK, hubster tries the Volt and loves it, he's in.
You love your PV and make the call that he's the one who needs the new one, maybe something more suited to his needs, the Volt is perfect for you
(I'm guessing this is going to be a reality shortly).

Which PV is best for him? LOTS of answers.
Time for some research and questions.
How will you know when you've found the right one?
What are your search criteria?
OK, You finally make the call and decide.
5 different places have them in stock, you choose one that seems reasonable.

But Wait!
One of them may be having a 20% off sale!
Do you know where to look for the coupon codes yet? (We do)
Do you know which place may have AWESOME JUICE TOO? (We do)
IF they have your PV, AWESOME JUICE, AND are having a 25% 4th of July sale...
HOW COOL IS THAT? (Most Excellently Cool is how cool)
If you pick the wrong one, sure you'll get your PV, then find out about the coupon AFTER you've bought it, or find out ANOTHER VENDOR was having the 25% sale but you missed it because you pulled the trigger to soon and just happened to find out reading the forum one day.

You want to combine ALL your needs as much as you can to SAVE on a single shipping charge and not find out several days later DAYUM I missed the sale and I COULD HAVE ordered juice from them, they have GREAT JUICE TOO!

Or sometimes it's appropriate to buy your hardware from one place and your juice from another, how do you know when each is called for?

We also have our own Classifieds Section here as well full of excellent PV's and good deals.
Do you find out about the Classified Section AFTER you buy a brand new one for double the price?

And maybe they were offering cartomizers at blowout prices too, but you found out 5 days after you bought the PV, because initially, the PV was the only purchase you were concerned with.

These decisions, if just given a few days, can iron themselves out pretty rapidly with a little education, hopefully you can see how a little information can lead to really thoughtful and intelligent properly combined purchases.

I mean seriously, you have no idea how much differently you will look at this just One Week from vape-start day, I learned LOADS the first week, and LOADS more the second week, all of it has completely morphed how, where, and why I buy what I do.

Am I making sense yet?

I don't have a Volt but I have something quite similar. You and your husband are going to love this. My wife and I battle over the thing and quickly ordered additional equipment already. Listen to these people who've been at it a while. I'm new myself and the advice you will get here is very thorough and informative. They've helped me tremendously.
