Aaaand holy crap things move along quickly! A while ago I sold most of my vape gear, because I had way more than I needed and I needed the money. I had a Provari, Atmizoo Roller, Vamo, and a bunch of other stuff and I was into genny's, silica, and everything else. The reason I mention all that is so you folks know that I know what I'm dealing with and don't need to crawl, I've walked if not ran already lol.

Anyway, I'm looking to get something not terribly expensive that I can use as my everyday vaping device. Something along the lines of a Vamo or MVP. I really like the box mods or a tube mod that isn't super long. Also, any suggestions on toppers? I've been digging the EVOD (still a little with it), but wouldn't mind something rebuildable...:confused::confused:

Check the VTR from Innokin, Sweetest box mod I've seen that wont break the bank. Of course theres the Hana, Dna Etc but those are $$$

The VTR is something I've been eyeing out for a while. Just dont wanna buy another VV/VW and not use it Lol

Rebuildable wise since you say you had a genny you should be fine? IGO-W or a Helios which offers different coil setups all in one.

+1 on Kayfun. Really really different level than the EVOD. I have a whole bunch of EVODS that are sitting around because of the Kayfun design. Really really superior to EVOD. Problem I had with EVOD was dry hits. (Yes, I know it's bottom coil so it shouldn't give dry hits...but I found something on google about the design causing a vacuum which caused dry hits.) The Kayfun is ridiculously easy to rebuild. The EVOD is nice because all you have to do is unscrew the coil head, but really KAYFUN!

You couldn't have been gone too long.. all the stuff you had is still popular now. The kayfun lite is the hot ticket right now and for good reason. Also the Reo's are still as hot as ever.. now they have a rebuildable atty that works great. Many are buying clone mechs from china and getting mixed results.. from what I read, it's hit or miss.. same with the less expensive kayfun clones, some are nice and some aren't.

For a box type vv/vw, many are choosing the MVP 2. I'm back to messing around with eGos and evods.. for new vapers. Evods are great because they are easily rebuildable with 30g and cotton.

Yea, that's pretty much all I have left is evods and egos. Aren' the kayfuns around $200? I had the kayfun mini for a minute, but didn't mess with it much before I sold it. It seemed finicky... maybe I was missing something.

I've been having pretty good luck with the evods though as long as I remove the two "flavor wicks." I haven't been totally out of the game, but long enough to feel out of touch I guess...

If your into rebuilding and like a shorter tube mod, then for a mechanical mod I can recommend the magneto V2 from triangle vapes. I got the SS one and got my brother a brass one for xmas, switched the tubes and it looks awesome. Especially since I have a forced layered brass patina on my brass center tube. 40 for SS and 33 for brass. Has a nice switch with no crappy spring contact. I could throw this mod as high up as I can without the battery and let it land where it may and it would still work, albeit with some battle scars. Once you go mech though you only come back if you can afford a DNA 30. If you get a mech invest in some Samsung INR 22A batteries or Sony VTC4 30A batteries. Also invest in a multimeter or a 510 ohm reader if you use a mech.
If you want a dripper for max flavor and fat clouds, but less convenience and leakage if you pocket without vaping everything off it, then the Igo-W is a very easy build for around 15.
For a cheap genny the RSST can be had for around 20 at some places, these leak as well. I use them for home usage when I want a dripper like vape without dripping and can keep my mod upright.
for a bottom feed I would recommend the H Cigar kayfun light clone or the Russian 91. These are more expensive, but worth investing in. Theres a learning curve for good VP, good feeding, and full flavor like the genny, but they work well. These are great for being out and about, being lazy, or conserving battery while still getting a nice vape. These won't cloud like a dripper or a genny but are very enjoyable in the flavor/warmth department.

Ditch the silica IMO, silica is bottom of the barrel. kiln treated XC-116 or DIY bon 60 grit porous ceramic wicks>mesh/wire rope>degummed hemp fiber>cotton>ekowool>german silica>silica. Everyone's different though some people might put cotton at the top. I can taste the T-shirt flavor boiled or not for half a day or so and then the taste is absolute crap in 2 days. Hemp fiber has some woodsy funk to it during break in but I prefer this to the cotton funk,it has a longer peak flavor curve than cotton, and is highly inexpensive like cotton. The ceramics have a little break in but there's no funk its a mild neutral mute from the start and a ramp up into the most defined flavor I've had(especially the bon, but XC is a lot easier). I rebuild at least 3 times a week, if not my stuff, then someone elses and I've been at it like a fanatic for 6 months or so.

I'm gonna check out the igo w for sure. I have an igo l and I love it, simple and taste/vapes great. A simple cost effective mech might be a good way to go
The difference between the two is mainly the holes in the posts, the extra negative post, and the two airholes. Not sure that it would be all that different from the IGO-L if you already have one. I mainly build fat wire sub ohm single coils, but the holes in the posts are nice because capturing fat wire under screw heads can be very annoying. I havent tried the trident but I have a v11 from fasttech that I enjoy after modding. I sanded down the inner AFC and bored the hole to an 1/8" since everything tasted burnt stock. I had to replace the o rings with my Igo-W replacements and replace the screws with the ones that have a larger diameter head from KP. Now it's a nice vape, its major attractive feature is a deep well and I think the chamber is more narrow than the IGO-W. Stock it vapes like a chump though. Crappy screws, small holes in the posts, inadequate airflow on the most open setting and you need to sand the inside part before you can bore the hole, the base o rings are weak and some break right upon opening for the first time, the drip tip 510 is a little too small and will eat o rings, but yeah once you have all that taken care of its great lol.

I have the clone Kayfuns, and they do work good. And there is the rocket atomizer, which I don't consider a clone (because it does not use anyone else's logos, and has a different outside look than the Svoemesto kayfun) which uses the same design, and is much cheaper than a kayfun.

Not to be confused with the Rocket by Rocket Science Mods - which would be an excellent option for the OP, but they are somewhat challenging to get :)
For kayfun style, the eXpromizer might be worth a look: eXpromizer Long mode - eXvape
