Rysup is right, just keep hitting the button until it glows. I find that if I blow on the coil while I am hitting the button, it glows faster. I have never blown an atty doing this and have been rotating 5 attys, two I have had for 11 months. I also have a pass-through that won't cut off automatically, so I can preform long burns on really stubborn gunk. Once it starts to glow a bit, I back off and do shorter bursts. Use vodka or ever-clear, it's not worth fooling with rubbing alcohol, since you don't want to chance vaping any, even dried residue. You don't even have to dry thoroughly with drinking type alcohol, just shake it out, blow dry and the dry burn will take care of the rest of the drying process.
BTW I am talking about an ego-t atty, but the principal should be the same.
Happy vaping
