So after hours of review, threads, research, I'm about 98% sold on the H Cigar Hammer Clone as the next mod to get on friday. It's a very strong and cool looking mod and what i'm looking for now is someone who owns one. Does anyone have any opinions on it and why I should/shouldn't get it, what to watch out for, what accesories or tank works, anything really. Any help would be appreciated, I don't wanna spend the money on something I wont like. :D

I have the FastTech Tobeco hammer. If I was to buy one again I would buy the HCigar. After looking at countless reviews and a complete side by side comparison from Verns Vapes I think it is a slightly better device than the Tobeco.

With that said I hear the switch on the HCigar is a little light for most people. Replacing the spring with a different spring can help greatly. I read in the main Hammer Clone thread that you can buy a selection of brass springs from an auto parts store to replace it.

What size batteries are you planning on using? In my opinion you should try your hammer in 18350 mode so if you don't have any of these batteries it is worth while to pick up a couple. The efest purple 18350 has a 10.5 amp limit which is what you should get if you plan on running coils less than 1 ohm.

The top cap is a little wonky with the spring in there for the floating 510 connector. This is the worst offender on the device for voltage drop problems. A fix for this is a better spring or purchase the flat chi you clone top cap replacement from Fast Tech as this top cap threads perfectly on the device and removes having the springed top cap.

Make sure you get yourself a long funky drip tip so you can look like a steampunk Gandalf!

Here is a link to one of them but there are a bunch of long drip tips on Fasttech to give you ideas.

Kemosabe really likes running his in hybrid mode with an Aios. $16.45 AIOS Rebuildable Atomizer Kit for Chi You - silver-plated contact at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I purchased one too but it hasn't come in. So far I have it setup with a russian clone and like it. I have mine with a regular chi you cap at the moment. I am waiting on a brass flat topcap to arrive.

Enjoy and it is a really fun awesome device!

I also have the Tobeco Hammer from Fasttech and would buy it again in a heartbeat. The top cap is not the best and causes a very noticeable voltage drop (I believe that's the case with all the clones and the original as well), but it's easily remedied. I decided to take out the 510 pin altogether and install a longer centre pin screw in my Kayfun 3.1 (which is a great atty for the Hammer) to create sort of a hybrid and now the voltage drop is minimal. The Hammer is actually really comfortable (at least with an 18350 - the purple Efests are great), vapes great, and looks fantastic of course.

I've got the Hcigar version. It's good to go out of the box.

The 510 cap on it is fine. I wouldn't push it below .5Ω-.6Ω and expect the tiny spring to maintain it's integrity. (I wouldn't expect it from any spring loaded 510) It was designed for 18350 batteries, so it's fine with anything in an 18350's amperage territory.

As already mentioned, if you want to go low resistance and use 18490 or 18650 batteries get the Chi You cap for it or the Fusionmods Hy Chi adapter.

I love the Hammer. It's a really modular and versatile mod what with all the things you can do with it. Outside of my main-squeeze Reos this little guy has won me over and turned into the only other mod that gets my attention.

I got the fast tech SS hammer and their brass king, I bought the king just to swap the parts with.
I've got to say the king top cap and button look nicer, makes it feel even more manly,
and the king button has a much stiffer spring, which I like.

edit. snapped a couple pics. I should of wiped it down first, but that's how it came out of my hand lol.

I have the CHammer clone from 101vape. For the most part I love it. Mostly for its unique shape from the most commonly seen tube mods. I only had two problems that I've seen already listed here. The spring in the top cap for the floating pin was terrible. I clicked it a few times fresh out the box and it stopped being springy. I replaced it with a spring from a pen. Additionally the spring in the button also collapsed but this was a month or two after regular use so I wouldn't chalk it up to the mod quality itself, just wear and tear.
