Hi so I'm going to buy my first kit tomorrow and it's the Smok Alien 220w. I know some people are going to say that it's too complicated for a beginner and stuff but things are a bit tight financially so I'm going to get it now or something similar(Wismec Predator Kit) as I really want to quit my cigarette habit. Tried e-cigs doesn't work for me

I'd like to know what is the safest battery that can handle the high wattage my setup is capable of.

Secondly, should I get the kit(tank) or should I get a RDA or something along those lines?

Could you please also recommend some e-liquid flavors? Currently looking into Cosmic Fog. Also how long would a 60ml bottle last me with average use?

Some guidelines on wattage range I should be vaping at(most likely gonna use a baby beast) will be appreciated as im a bit scared about sub ohm vaping causing battery explosions

Using the Alien isn't rocket surgery so you should be ok. The Alien is an e-cig, just an advanced high wattage one, I assume you mean it's not a cigalike or an ego style device.

There are batteries on the market that could use to to reach the maximum wattage of the Alien, but you will get short run-times and will damage or at least shorten the lifespan of them by doing so. Stick with a good 3000 mAh 20 amp CDR cell like the Samsung 30Q, LG HG2 or the Sony VTC6 and stay below 120 watts.

Get the kit. Vape the premade coils, then learn to build on RTA section. Master this first, and then move on.

Try a few juices and find what you like, everyone has different tastes. Personally I like mint chocolate bacon bubblegum flavor. How long the juice will last depends on what wattage you use.

The right wattage level is what is right for you, some like it hot, some do not. As long as you keep within your batteries amp limit you are good to go.
Sub-ohm vaping does not cause battery explosions. Abusing and misusing batteries either through ignorance or misguided machismo does.

I have the Alien, it's a great mod. I agree with sonicbomb, get the kit, use the premade coils then maybe buy the rba section(it's only like $10), then if you want move on to an rda/rta/rdta. I use a set of LG Hg2s and a set of Samsung 25rs, both work well, but the LGs last longer. If you decide to move on to an rta I highly recommend the Ijoy Exo or the OBS Engine Nano. Both are great tanks, I'd almost say go for the Exo first because it gives you the option of single coil(my preference) or dual coil that is setup just like the baby beast rba. However the Nano is great as well. As for the eliquid, that's harder to help you with. If you give some examples of anything you have tried, or would like to try I might be able to make some suggestions. Cosmic Fog is pretty good. My friend's ADV is their Milk and Honey. I DIY my eliquid now, but I still really enjoy Yogi Blueberry Granola Bar. If you have any other questions just ask, ECF is great for help and opinions, good people on this forum!

Hi Shajid & welcome
The brown LG HG2 batteries are the most commonly used and will do fine in the Alien. More importantly is where you purchase them as there are a lot of fake rewrapped batteries out there. If you have access to US internet vendors then Liion's Wholesale is a trusted vendor and there are others.

Go with the kit as you'll get the BB for less money and you can consider it a first atty purchase, with more to come. The RBS suggested is a good idea for it.

The wattage range is going to primarily depend on what you like as the power will effect the vape you get and its taste, or lack there of. The various coils with the BB will have suggested wattage ranges with them. Be sure to prime the coil properly before use and then start at the low end of the power range (or even lower) and work upwards until you begin to loose the taste then back down etc to find your preferred sweet spot. That spot will also change with the juice you are using.

For juice taste you can only try sampling it until you find what you like. Many vendors offer sample sizes for a low price. You will have to decide how much nicotine you want in it. To start I'd suggest keeping it no higher than 6 to 9 mgs but when you actually try to quit cigs you may want some higher nic juice available, say 12 to 24 mg (I went with 18 mg). You will also have to decide how much PG versus VG you want in the juice. PG gives a throat hit but makes some folks cough (like me) so some will opt for as little PG in their juice as possible (called "max VG"). PG vs VG normally comes in 50/50 to 20/80 ratios with max VG usually coming in with even less PG. All you can do is try out samples of each to decide.

Samsung 30Q was shown to have best starting mAh and least amount lost after 50 charges by Mooch. If you want to try high end juices at a discount zamplebox is a great way to try tons of flavours from different companies and when you know what kind of stuff you like or don't like you can update it to only send stuff they think you will like or just tell them exactly what you want.

Imho if you're an ex smoker you should probably aim for something more mtl (mouth to lung) for a setup the alien is a dtl setup/sub ohm kit.

I currently own a nautilus tank (5ml) and haven't smoked in 3 weeks now, also the mod(battery that goes under the tank) dosen't really matter it's more a wattage thing.

Nb:i'm also a beginner so take my opinion with a grain of salt i'm just going by what i've heard and read from forums and people in vape stores.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Batteries/mods and juice are pretty much one dimensional for me. RDA's/atomizers are where the action is. I would suggest looking only at RDA's. They are Infinitely customizable and economic.

Yeah building coils is fairly simple. GeekVape etc make spools of clapton etc now so the days of spending $5 for someone to make you 2 coils are gone thankfully. RDA's are fool proof as far as leaks as long as you dont over drip and generally provide the best flavour but RDTA's are great too as long as you dont tip them over. RTA's are close in flavour these days but if you dont wick them perfect most will leak a little when putting the top on so keep vaper towel around. Basically a chose between slightly better flavour or convenience. Probably get a lot of suggestions here just let use know if you want single or dual coil or an option for both. I'm sure the TFV8 probably has a RBA sold separately too.
