So I've decided that I want to start using Ecigs instead of smoking. I've done SOME research about the whole thing, but not much. I bought a disposable ecig the other day but I'm not really sure where to start besides that. I need some suggestions about products for beginners. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I want a decent product. Any help?

I found these videos super helpful in the beginning:
E-Cig 101 - Class 1 - What Do I Order First? - YouTube

E-Cig 101 - Class 2 - Attys, Refills, & Dripping - YouTube

ETA: the "Yeti" he refers to is the same as an eGo 510 kit. The battery is small, so you might want to check out the kit with larger batteries (they hold a charge longer). Also, when I first watched it I got confused when he talked about 510s, and other sizes. They refer to the thread size (I thought it was the atty size). Almost all of what you will see recommended on the forum will fit on a 510.

ya get any 510 compatible ego style kit. comes with 2 batterys a charger and get some clearomizers. pick up some bobas bounty from alienvisions and commit. also decide whether you want to replace smoking with a new addiction or are you using this to quit entirely otherwise you will get sucked into a expensive must have the latest product addiction most vapers fall into.

Hi, fremmy, welcome and CONGRATS on you decision to switch!

This Mini Starter Kit - 650mah - Black - DiscountVapers.com is by far the best kit to start with. I really wish this had been available when I was floundering around the interwebs a few months ago

All you need to do is buy one more battery (exactly like the one in the kit), grab some juice and you are VAPING.

Please ask any and all questions and keep us posted on your progress.

ETA: Discount Vapers is the bomb. A very trusted vendor and Eric there or any of his staff are glad to answer any q's you may have.

I suggest trying some of the cheap starter kits. I use Smokeless Image and they have a kit that comes with 1 battery, 1 USB charger, and 2 cartos ("filter" tips) for $20. I know V2 has a similar starter kit, and I'm sure plenty others do too. These are the small batts that look just like a cig. Easy place to start. Everyone is going to tell you to go with the bigger batts, but IMO its a lot easier to make and commit to the switch with something with a familiar size shape and weight. Also plenty of people stick with the small ones. I love them! Just make sure to get a good battery! Smokeless Image are great! I use them just like I did with cigs and a batt will last me 10 hours easy! Also, make sure you get a high enough nicotine level. I always hear stories of people having a hard time staying off cigs because they only want to go with 8 or 12 mg of nicotine. Depending on what you smoke now go with either 18 or 24 mg, that way you know it will kill the craving.
P.S. Just make sure if you get an "automatic" battery (without a button) that it is sealed (no little hole in the top of the batt post where the "filter" screws on).

I'd echo what HOPS has said. A good E-cig with an automatic battery shaped like a real cig was the way I went, after getting one of the huge battery types.

The V2 E-cig vastly exceeded the other E-cigarettes I've owned and tried, and it came with both manual and automatic, the only time the manual gets used is when the other one is out of charge.

The V2 E-cig automatic battery also starts to "kick-in" straight away, I don't have to take a "primer" pull.

If you do go for the V2, avoid the starter kit. As this comes with 2x batteries (manual and auto), a charger and 10 pre-filled cartomizers. I'd go for 1 x auto battery, a charger and 5 refillable cartomizers bought seperately, which is a lot cheaper and you can tailor it to your needs. You can buy the juice from somewhere else, the V2 juice is ok so you could get a bottle from them, but it's a lot better from the bottle than the pre-filled carts and lasts a lot longer.

Well spotted.

I don't think they had that offer when I ordered mine. I bought from the UK branch and I'm not sure they had all the kits available at the time. Either that or I missed it.

It's a good E-cig though, well worth the money. The build quality and vapour production is awesome.

I started with an standard Ego Kit. I think they are a good starting point. If you can get the Ego Twist that will be a great add-on. As you will soon learn, you will be looking for more and more.

I think the Ego's are just well made and have that standard 510 connection thread.

I would take a look at these sites. I have purchased from them before:

Welcome to Ecigsupply - For all your E-Cig needs
AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Your one stop shop!

For juice, I like to order from The Best eJuice - VapeDudes.com - Hand-Crafted Gourmet & Organic - 100% USA Ingredients
