Just started vaping a month ago, quit cigs and made the switch. Started with an evod kit, then moved up to a variable voltage evod and upgraded my tank to the pro tank 3. Really enjoy it, but find myself wanting more. Highly considering a mech mod. What would you guys suggest? Keep in mind, I'm not made of money lol, just a broke blue collar. Thanks again!

Hello and welcome to the forum Sasquatch. Glad to have you here!:)

I would recommend skipping the mech mod for now. With a mech comes $40 in batteries & charger plus a new topper (rebuildable) in addition to the mod. Clearomizers can be run on a mech but you are limited to 4.2volts (decreasing as you use your battery). Then there is all the education on battery safety, ohm's law, amp draw, etc. if you go the rebuildable route.

Consider instead a variable v/w mod. The MVP v2 is extremely popular

1. Huge (2600 mah) battery
2. Variable Voltage - Voltage can be adjusted from 3.3 ~ 5.0 in 0.1 volt increments
3. Variable Wattage - Wattage can be adjusted from 6.0 ~ 11.0 in 0.5 watt increments
4. Ohms Meter - Reads the resistance of your atomizer
5. Pass through ability
6. $40 shipped at many online stores

The new iStickby eLeaf is gaining in popularity as well.

1. 2200mAh internal Li-Ion Battery
2. Variable Wattage (VW) up to 20W and Variable Voltage (VV) from 3v – 5.5v
3. 10-sec Protection: Maximum of 10 seconds per drag.
4. Atomizer Short-Circuit Protection: If atomizer short-circuits, the OLED screen show “Atomizer Short”.
5. Low-Voltage Protection: Once the battery is below 3.3V the OLED screen will show “Lock”, which means its time to recharge.
6. Unlock the Low-voltage Protection: The iStick begins working again once it reaches 3.65V.
7. Low power Alert: If the battery’s power is lower than 10%, the power symbol on the screen will flash.
8. Atomizers from 1ohm to 3ohm capable
9. Pass-Thru vaping while charging
10. ~ $50.00

For me, when I started out, I was quite happy with simple setups like yours. In fact, when I'm traveling I still often use them. Simpler. I also think that the juice is almost more important than the hardware, assuming the hardware is working adequately. I use mostly mechs at home, and rebuildables. But, they can be frustrating and troublesome. I think I would have gone back to cigs if I'd gotten into rebuildables early on.
That said I do like them a great deal. Take a look at byLeo website for a cool rebuildable tank atomiser the Sophia (which is great), and a nice telescoping mech the BodMecha. Take a look at VapourArt website for their superb mechs and their toppers, the Heron and Spheroid, the latter I think is terrific. But, it's work and sometimes frustration. But well worth it; great vapor and taste. Also not cheap getting good gear that is both great looking and works almost without fail. those two vendors do. there are others, but these two I can praise from personal experience, rather than hearsay. Good luck and welcome.

I can second the Eleaf Istick as a good step up - it's small but powerful (battery charge lasts about 2 days, and I'm a heavy vaper), plays well with tanks (my preferred is the Nautilus Mini, but I also have Kanger tanks and they work well with it too). And you can get the istick for less than $40. Try Avid Vaper or Indy Vapor - you can get the complete kit at both sites, and you'll probably want that so you have the right charger for the istick. Hang on to your evods, you'll need them as back-ups when charging or in case something else goes wrong. Mech mods take a lot of knowledge and experience to operate safely and might be a better choice a little further down the road, and after vaping has saved you a bundle of bucks compared to smoking! Congratulations on switching and good luck!

Thanks guys! For battery life I'll probably go box mod. Just saw the eleaf and considering that one. I like how small it is and seems a little more convenient than a bigger box mod. I do however have a nack to tinkering with things and the idea of building my own coils and such with a rebuildable really appeals to me. I don't mind taking the time to make it right. And the whole buying of batteries and chargers and all that goes with it doesn't bother me. I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to hobbies, and do a ton of research before hand. And with this being more of a lifestyle than a hobby, I've been in overdrive mode to find the setup that's right for me.

Another vote for the Eleaf Istick. Great little device. I have a couple of vision spinners, evods, and 3 provaris and I have hardly touched any of them since I bought this last week.

I use Nautius tanks as well as Kanger aerotank megas and regular areotanks. Works like a charm and a great price. Got the blue one and just ordered the black one.

Hope this helps
