Woke up on Friday to find the right half of my face completely paralysed. Spent a while in hospital getting tests to rule out other causes.

I can't get a decent draw on any of my RDAs having tried at least 6 and probably about 15 drip tips.

I don't supposed anyone has experienced this or has any advice?

I haven't gone back to the analogues mostly because I can't imagine I'd get a decent draw on them either but it's so much more tempting when I can't get enjoyment from any of my kit :(

Apparently I'm looking at about a month before I see improvement so I'm willing to try anything.

Hope you get better soon.

Mouth to lung vapor? Sounds like it and your getting air from the effected side.

If so maybe a lung inhale set up might help. Sometime straight to lung vapors will do this on purpose.

I'm always direct to lung. I just can't get a decent seal with only half my mouth working. It's a real pain and really bad timing. I'm still quite fresh off the analogues and can't help thinking that this would be much easier to deal with another month down the line.

I also have not closed my right eye for 5 days so it obviously feels great. I have to make a lot of effort to expel my vape as far from my face as possible. This is made slightly easier by only being able to blow it out of the side of my mouth opposite the painful eye.

I really never thought about how much I liked/ used my face until half of it broke on me.

Roll on next month :)

Just now I tried drawing my vape through one nostril (strictly for science). Too hot at 40 max watts and 380 degrees. I tried again on power mode at 10 watts. Much cooler but still irritated my nose pretty significantly so may be that's not going to work unless the vapor is very cool. Another possiblity, when you press the fire button push air into the air intake and you just breath in at the other end. A pump could be one of those rubber hot watter bottles and you squeeze it to get the air moving (starting to sound like playing bagpipes). I love this kind of challenge.

Okay, I've got another idea. Get an oxygen style mask with a flexible tube going into the drip tip. Then you can breath in and pull the vapor without pursing your lips.

Ah, a better idea, may be all you need is a tube that's wide enough that your lips will close around it when you draw and it reduces to a tube that squeezes into the drip tip. May be the hospital staff will be ingrigued and help you cobble something together. They have to rig up goofy stuff all the time but then it will probably cost $10,000. May be better to get some stuff at the hardware store. Any hardware store guy worth beans would love to help you figure out this one. Then get a patent and we'll all be RICH!!

Hmmm...how about a plastic funnel?

Okay then, I found a plastic funnel in my mixing supplies and tried it. It works but you are doing only direct lung inhales and the flavor definitelyy diminishes.

Next I tried using my fingers to force my lips closed around the drip tip. Didn't work that great and I drooled like a baby.

There's a solution to this one.

See how garage inventing works?

Some very interesting suggestions that I will definitely try!

I can't really do the hardware store one just because I don't really like speaking around people who don't know and love me. I look terrible :(

I've had some pretty horrendous symptoms and side effects from a half a decade of fighting cancer but this one seems to have just hit me so much harder. I guess I'm much more vain than I thought I was.

Thank you so much for trying to help :)

Have you tried putting the drip tip on one side of your mouth and then using your hand to help close the other side your mouth?

I have tried that. It's easier with the smaller drip tips but it's still not ideal. But then with half a mouth there will probably not be an ideal solution anyway.

I think I'm starting to improve with practice. I'm having to vape much more than I usually do just because it's not as satisfying but hopefully I can count it as muscle exercises lol

First of all @braveminion sorry to hear that you're experiencing this condition temporary or not, but as your screen name suggest you shall overcome this.
Secondly a Nebulizer mask adapted to a Vaper device might help until this passes. That way you could place it up to your face without needing to pucker up at all. Might take a minute to hook it up but maybe worth the effort for the time being.
Best wishes and Good health to you
FYI The Nebulizer Mask can be purchased at Walgreens

This

Just like when you need to take a sip from a drink with a straw after you have gone to the dentist and he numbs half your face.

Two handed vaping :)
