These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, EVE, Lishen, BAK, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.
Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.
Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.
If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.
Test Results
This cell is a good performer and is worth considering if you’re in the 4A-15A (12W-45W) range. In spite of its model number, it is not hinting at being a Samsung 30Q rewrap. It appears to be a China-manufactured cell, many of which are fantastic performers. With genuine “big name” cells hard to find, and often are old, cells like this can be a good alternative.
The Vapcel Q30 doesn’t run for quite as long as the Samsung 30Q and Murata VTC6 but in actual use you might not notice the difference and the Vapcell Q30 is often lower priced. At above 3A-4A it runs for longer than the 3200mAh-3500mAh 18650’s due to less voltage sag with this cell.

My thoughts and results below…
- Vapcell gave this cell a 35A “pulse”/“burst” rating but there’s a LOT of voltage sag at that high a current level, almost instantly down to about 3.3V. This just isn’t a cell made for 100W discharging.
- This cell runs a bit hot at 20A continuous but that max current rating seems reasonable.
- Like all of the 3000mAh 18650’s, it’s best for low to moderate power applications (up to about 15A/45W) and this cell does very well in that range. I recommend staying at 25A or under for non-continuous use.
- DC IR measured 17.6mOhms and 18.3mOhms for two cells. This is a decent value and a typical level of consistency.
- Capacities were 3067mAh and 3171mAh, which is terrible consistency but is above the cell’s 3000mAh rating.
- I do not know its charging current specs and I have not tested its cycle life.
