Just wondering what everyone out there is using and which batteries are the best for vaping? I have a Kanger Dripbox and I am using Samsung INR18650 25R 3.7A batteries in it. I vape fairly heavily and find I am going through about 3 charges a day. Am I using the best batteries or are there some better ones out there that would deliver more power on a full charge and last longer? Any opinions or comments appreciated!

The highest mAh 20A cells.
  • LG HG2 3000 mAh 20A CDR
  • Samsung 30Q 3000 mAh 20A CDR
BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

Thanks a lot! I did buy my Samsungs on Amazon, so that's good to know! I'll check those links out.

From what I can see from following the links above and searching for the Samsung 30Q 300mAh batteries, they have a maximum continuous discharge of 15A. The Samsung INR18650 25Rs maximum continuous discharge is 20A, which I need. The Dripbox is basically an unregulated mech mod, and the coils that come with it, and that I'm building are around .25 ohms. So, on a fresh charge, my batteries going to be at 4.2V and to fire a .25 ohm coil, it's going to draw 16.8A. I realize the 30Qs LAST longer, but i wouldn't be able to use them, would I?

Mooch's bench tests of the Samsung 30Q revealed this battery actually tested out as a 20 amp continuous, so it tests out better than its official specs.

Samsung 30Q 20A 3000mAh 18650 Bench Retest Results...a great 20A/3000mAh battery!

0.25 ohms is at the limit of a 20 amp battery. I never feel comfortable building that low myself. Everyone is free to set their own parameters, and I can only say what mine are.

I try to never exceed 50% of the CDR (continuous discharge rating) of a fully charged battery (4.2v). So with a 20A batteries, that would be 10A. The Ohm's Law Calculator tells me that a .4 ohm build is as low as I would want to use.

The reason that I place a 50% limit is because as a battery ages the mAh of the battery degrades, as the mAh degrades so does the batteries c rating (amp limit). So down the road, your 20A battery may only be a 10A battery.

1.0 ohm = 4.2 amp draw
0.9 ohm = 4.6 amp draw
0.8 ohm = 5.2 amp draw
0.7 ohms = 6 amp draw
0.6 ohms = 7 amp draw
0.5 ohms = 8.4 amp draw
0.4 ohms = 10.5 amp draw
0.3 ohms = 14.0 amp draw
0.2 ohms = 21.0 amp draw
0.1 ohms = 42.0 amp draw
0.0 ohms = dead short = battery goes into thermal runaway

Ok. It says different on the specs on the websites. So it Does have a 20A MCD. Thanks
