Hello,

I'm still very new to vaping and have been frustrated with the learning curve required several times now. I have a Volcano Magma and have had problems with one of the batteries that came in my starter pack. When I first received it the battery appeared to be inoperable so I sent it back to be replaced/repaired. The customer service representative at Volcano told me that it appeared (to them) to be working properly so they "cleaned it up" and sent it back to me. Low and behold I received it today and thankfully it does work; however, it seems inconsistent, as I have to such much harder than my other one to get a strong hit. I really don't want to send it back and have to wait weeks to get it back, so I'd like to purchase a more reliable backup.

Any suggestions? I was looking at the Vapor King batteries from V4L, but read mixed reviews on them. It would be nice if the batteries fit my M-Pack (PCC) and existing Magma chargers.

hello. i believe you mean a 510 battery? I don't think the battery at vapor kings is the same (but i could be wrong). i'm not sure which model the magma is. is it slim or about an 3/4 inch thick? anyway, i think volcano sells 510 items so any vendor selling 510 batteries can help ya out. hope this helps

Hi and welcome to ECF,

Are you referring to this PCC? MAGMA eCig M-Pack. Sorry I never used the ecigs on volcano. But I believe the magma is a 510. From the description of that pcc, it looks like you can only use it to charge auto batteries? Most ppl, including me do not recommended using auto batteries. So I dunno would it be a wise choice to purchase more auto batteries that can be use w/ that pcc. Maybe another member can help you.

But if you are looking for automatic 510 batteries, cignot carries them. Also I think your pcc only charges 180mah batteries so you can't get the extended version if you want to use it on your pcc. Also if you get a faulty battery and it's under warranty, Vicky @ Cignot will mail you a new replacement before you need to send the old one back. I'm not sure if there a warranty on batteries at cignot though.

Another choice is you can get it from liberty-flights, but it looks like currently they are outta stock on auto batteries. They have a 2 month warranty on their 510 batteries. Electronic Cigarette - Batteries - Joye 510Liberty flight is great as well they will send you the replacement first too I believe. If you do end up buying anything from Liberty flights remember to click on the 20% off on top of the webpage before adding anything to your basket.

Good luck

Yes, that is the correct PCC. I'm assuming that you recommend a manual battery? I was thinking about trying one of those out anyway. I think I'll go with the Joye 510 from Liberty Flight, unless any one else has any other suggestions.

Before you buy, are you on the pc alot most of the time? If you are maybe you might want to consider a eGo passthru and battery? It's a 510 connection as well. But the diameter is alitle larger, it's about a size of a cigar. That why I said to try a passthru first incase you think it's awkward to be out in public w/ that. The eGo passthru and battery is great, you can use it on your pc while charging, and unplug it and walk around w/ it. It's 650mah, normally that will last me for about 4-6 hours before needed another charge. Liberty flights has them for about $21.00 after clicking the 20% off. Cignot also carries them in 650mah and 1000mah. I believe there warranty on them at both LF and cignot.

IMO buy manual batteries. Unfortunately they may not fit in your PCC if you have a Magma PCC. If the round battery compartments don't have notches cut out for the button of the manual battery, then manuals could be damaged using the PCC. I use a VaporMaxx PCC from NoSmokeVA for my short 510 batteries (holds 1 charging, 1 other battery, and 6 other items)

Joye 510 batteries i.e. the original manufacturer (and Boge are probably good too). And whatever the non-Joye manual 510 I got at VaporLeaf is, it seems to work well. Note though - Volcano claims they do use Joye.

For longer charge, Joye 510 mega manuals

For super-longer charge, get Ego or Riva 510

Auto batteries are vulnerable to juice drips on the threaded end. They are dependent on the drag sensor there. Even gumming up the drag sensor can cause problems.

I remember reading on the Volcano forum that the new Magma PCCs do accommodate for the button of manual batteries. I have the old Magma PCC, and my manual batteries fit just fine so either way you're good. Keep in mind though that your PCC will only charge 510 threaded batteries that are standard size (XLs will be too long). Also, the V4Ls are 808 threaded so will not work with your existing PCC.

As others have already said, stick to manual batts from here on out. They're sealed so you don't ever have to worry about juice killing your battery. I've killed a handful of auto batts from juice getting into the center tube.

How long have you had it? I'd contact them again and tell them you want a new battery. Is your kit still under warranty?

Yeah the 510 mega xl manuals are great - last 60% longer but they do need a mega PCC. I think the only mega PCC is the metal one. VaporKings.com sells a Mega PCC that includes an adapter for charging a short 510 battery.

They are quite a bit longer. With atty+cart make a 138mm ecig. With standard carto they make a 128mm ecig (who I use them)

I keep hoping for a nicer PCC for megas.

Re Vapor King for Vapor4Life? Vapor King and KR808D-1 generic manual batteries are nice - supposedly a full 3.7 volts, so a bit more voltage than 510 and give a warmer hit (and warmer adds to TH). Downside - no cig-pack look PCC - just a flat metal case that holds little. I use both manual Vapor4Life and refill the cartos, and I use 510 and 510 mega manuals with blank cartomizers.

Wow! Thanks for all the information! I walked away and came back to see a bunch of great advice. I'm still trying to find the right ensemble for my vaping needs. I'm considering contacting Volcano and demanding a manual to replace my fledgling auto. I've only had the system for 3 or 4 weeks. Either way, I'll definitely go with a manual battery from here on out. I like the idea of getting an eGo passthrough (I spend a lot of time at a computer) for home use and then a few more manuals for going out. My wife also wants her own (just convinced her to trade analogs in for vaping last night), preferably with a white exterior b/c she still thinks that other colors look silly. What do you think about the Riva 510s? They are 750 mAh and purportedly last longer. They are also available in white.

So, to sum up: an eGo passthrough, a Riva 510, and, hopefully, Volcano will replace this crappy auto battery with a manual one.

Hi,

The Riva 510 is a great starter kit as well. I can't see the item in the link, but I guess you are referring to the Riva 510 lite bundle w/ 20% off it will be $30.00. Riva 510 is a knockoff eGo and they both work and function the same. So yes a Riva 510 is the right way to go. Since Riva 510 , eGo , and your magma are all 510 threading the things you use are all compatable. So that is a very wise choice. Just note if you buy any LR atties or cartos do not use it on your magma as it can decrease the lifespan of the battery by using a lr resistance.

Good luck and dun forget to click on the 20% off from the website.

hehe and also I think once you get the eGo/Riva stuff you might not want to use the magma anymore. That what happen to me when I first started w/ a Joye 510 kit.
