Depends on the voltage being used. Voltage and Resistance (ohms) combine into watts. Here is a chart and an XL spread sheet to help you calc the wattage.
Volts is to elec. as pressure is to water and air. Resistance is to elec. what volume is to water in air like gallons per hour. Most vaping is done between 4-8 watts but some go higher for TH also atty types and juice seems to effect the wattage needed sometimes IMO.

I like the 1.8 on my standard ego batteries and the same on my twists. I find the voltage I use depends on the juice I'm vaping. Some say not to use the 1.8 above so many volts, but I have 1 juice, (RY4), that I crank it up to 4.4/4.6 and that is where I like it. Some say it will burn up a 1.8 atty at that voltage, but not my experience as of yet.

I've only used the 1.8 ohm heads, and I liked them. But now that I'm measuring them, they're all coming out right at 2.3 ohms.

I'm honestly not sure there's a difference b/t the 1.8 and 2.4 ohm heads other than the markings on the barrel.

But my favorite is the 1.7 ohm kanthal coil I wrapped around SS mesh. I need to do that more often.

Maybe I'll give the 1.8 another shot.. But when I tried it out it tasted like burning plastic and almost made me throw up..

I recommend using the 1.8 @ 3.7 volts. From my experience, any higher and I would get dry hits but right at 3.7 has been working perfect for me. If I were you I would take it apart and inspect the head, looking for and signs of burning/melting pieces.
