Hi guys. I’ve made the same 2 flavors for the past 7 years and I’m perfectly content. 1 is a straight vanilla custard and the other is vanilla custard with a touch of hazelnut. I also make a strawberry for the wife.
She asked for a blackberry custard. Easy. But if anyone could steer me to a good blackberry flavoring, I’d be very grateful. reviews seem to be everywhere from tide soap to perfume to my grandma. Definitely don’t want the grandma one. Thanks

I've noticed there seems to much similarity between "blackberry" and "boysenberry"... I am also searching for good one(s)
I copied this from another source... hope I'm not in trouble for using it (couldn't post a link)

The Flavors

One on One Boysenberry @ 2% and 4%
Nothing at 2% and mostly nothing at 4%. Very thin, slightly waxy dark blackberry. No Raspberry at all.

Conclusion
This may need to be pushed really high to get any flavor at all. Very weak and thin.

One on One Boysenberry Pie @ 4% and 6%
Very jammy, lots of dark blackberry notes. Moderately sweet. The raspberry notes are kind of perfumey but minimize after repeated vaping. I get NO bakery at all. No harshness at all.

Conclusion
This isn't bad but the perfume raspberry notes give a kind of "eating berry chapstick" kind of vibe. It's pretty jammy and not dry at all. The sweetness leaves room for adding other sweet ingredients. I'm assuming this is just the pie filling since there is absolutely no bakery at all. I can see layering this with another boysenberry and one of the many pie crust flavors to make a great pie, donut, waffle (if you have INW), etc.

The Flavor Apprentice Boysenberry @ 2%
Perfumey, soapy dark berry with hints of medicinal cherry. Very floral. Dry with no juiciness or jamminess. No sweetness or harshness. Straight soap.

Conclusion
I pushed this waaaaaay to high according to u/ID10-T. Super floral and soapy. Doesn't really taste of blackberry or raspberry. Just some generic dark berry notes. The cherry in this makes it even worse. It's like it's been over flavored with the worst medicinal cherry you could find.

The Flavor Apprentice Boysenberry Deluxe @ 3%
Sweet, juicy, dark blackberry notes with a touch of Blackcurrant. Slightly tart. Softer more subtle Raspberry floral notes behind that. No harshness at all. Subtle warmth that lends to jamminess.

Conclusion
This is really good. It's juicy and semi jammy with some great blackberry notes. There is a touch of Blackcurrant here in the dark berry notes that give this some depth. The raspberry notes are subtle but still lend some brightness to this flavor. This is a really really good dark berry flavor. It's not insanely potent like their blackberry so I don't see it bullying a mix even at 4%.

Real Flavors Boysenberry @ 2% and 4%
Very thin, weak, slightly sweet and slight dark generic berry jamminess. No Raspberry top notes at all. At 4% it's musky and kind has an off sweetness. Almost cheesy.

ConclusionThis is pretty terrible and the musky sweet cheesy off note makes it really unusable. I may have "broken" it pushing it up to 4% but I got next to nothing at 2%. Avoid this flavor. Not worth it.

Jungle Flavors Boysenberry @ 2%
Sweet, tart, slightly perfumed grape with a touch of blackberry. A little bit soapy. No harshness. No jamminess. The grape is overwhelming the dark berry and floral Raspberry notes.

Conclusion
This really seems like a Grape trying to masquerade as a dark berry. The floral Raspberry notes are barely there and definitely perfumey and soapy but don't dominate the flavor. They could probably be easily covered up with creams or bakeries.

Flavor West Boysenberry @ 2%
Starts off juicy and sweet with a hint of dark berry notes. Maybe a little grape too. Turns soapy and dry really quickly on the finish. I think the soap is supposed to be floral Raspberry notes.

Conclusion
At 2% this tastes sweet and faintly blackberry with a touch of grape and something terrible to pass as Raspberry. The raspberry comes off as floral soap on the finish when you vape the first few times. Until you get "used" to it. It's like eating a blackberry grape bath bomb. I couldn't force myself to push this higher for fear of a scented soap attack.

Flavorah Boysenberry @ 3% and 4%
Sweet, tart, dark blackberry notes. Almost syrupy. Raspberry notes are not really floral but more candy like. No harshness at all. Pushed to 4 percent this gets very syrupy and there's a tiny bit of earthiness.

Conclusion
This is probably the most versatile Boysenberry available. It's right down the middle. The only con is that it's quite candy. Use it with blueberry to add depth, dark berry notes and syrupy sweetness. It really gives me the vibe of the bottom dark notes of cooked blueberry.

Nature's Flavors Boysenberry @ 2% and 4%
Slightly boozy dark blackberry notes. Almost reminds me of a brandy. Slightly sweet with no harshness. Small amount of tartness and the blackberry notes are pretty juicy. Raspberry floral top notes are pretty non-existent. Mostly just the middle notes of the raspberry lingering slightly.

Conclusion
I get mostly blackberry from this. It has a slight warm booziness when you first start vaping it but that dissipates as you get used to it. The tartness is very nice and balances nicely with the sweetness and juiciness. There's only a kiss of raspberry there. Just enough to keep you guessing but it's mostly juicy blackberry.

Vape Train Australia Boysenberry @ 2% and 4%
Sweet dark berry notes. Slightly jammy. Reminds me of blackcurrant but pushes blackberry. No harshness. At 2% I get almost no raspberry floral top notes. At 4% the raspberry fills in a bit but is mostly body and no floral top notes.

Conclusion
This is all dark notes and no real brightness. It's an average Boysenberry that can be used to bring body and dark berry notes to other berries. This flavor is super weak and I feel like you could push this up to 6% with no off notes."

To me, a boysenberry is a cross between a blackberry and a raspberry, but slightly sweeter.

This is a review on Purilum Boysenberry:

**Flavor Description:** This is an authentic fresh boysenberry that's not artificial tasting. This one is a brighter berry, slightly closer to the raspberry side than the blackberry. I'm not getting the juiciness with this one, it actually seems a bit dry to me. It doesn't taste like it's sweetened or has sugar added, but seems slightly sweeter than natural. It's missing that tartness usually found in fresh boysenberries, and I think that is why it seems sweeter.

Everyone tastes flavours differently - I actually get a lot of juicyness from this flavour. But I also smother it with cream :D

Myself, I'm looking for something like a blackberry jam. I like to add a bakery flavor but creme also sounds good. I've read similar thread about strawberry... seems you have to combine several to get what you seek. The one thing I don't like is any "perfume" or "soapy" notes (some might call it floral, but to me it's "laundry detergent") I posted something about this before... here's a reply concerning making a clone of Jam Monster Blackberry:
"I seen somebody talking on last nights Wendy Vapes live show which was about DIY. He said all the jam monster stuff was from Real Flavors (SC) and would be the Blackberry Jam W/Toast. He said start at about 5% to 8% with between 3% to 5% sweetener. Never had it but he swore the Real Flavors (SC) flavors W/Toast were the flavors Jam Monster used."
I can't seen to find it (but found blueberry w/toast and strawberry w/toast)
