ok, guys, as u know, I am using an astro.

but the stupid lock at the bottom will drop out at times, and my leg almost catches fire, because the whole mod becomes very hot. Once the lock drop, the spring inside will automatically fire up the tank and it will quietly become very hot inside.... sooner or later, my member will be burnt.

So I am looking for another mod so that I can brg out and be a ninja.

My criteria:
- have to be as small as possible so that I can bring in my pocket outside
- have to produce enough power for hits
- prefer to use 18350 batt
- don't have same issues as the astro
- not too pricey, meaning not $500 type

I intend to use the astro a new drip tank at home.... so please don't request me to sell u my astro :)

my friend recommend me
- rai (seemed a little long)
- sentinel (the lock always stuck - not recommended) also quite big

any recommendations? (oh.... only mech mod... no digi please)

Astro is on of the best mod.

What you have experience is the bottom firing button and lock button has come loose.

What you need to do is to disassemble the whole bottom and be careful of the spring inside. Clean it and reassemble it, using a flat head screwdriver and screw it down while holding on to the lock and firing bottom. Release it and screw the bottom lock button upwards and the firing button be easy to fire.

Another mod near to Astro is the nemesis which has a shorter sleeves to reduce the height. In comparison, nemesis is has good connection due to the sliver plating on the connectors.

If you're talking about the rai launcher, in 18350 mode it's only about 7cm long. Good solid construction, can crack crab shells, handy when going for seafood. Its also ribbed for your own enjoyment should you happen enjoy such things.

Rai is also a good mech mod but like what you had said good solid body and nice feel. And very heavy. Firing like a champ!

lol I was going to recommend the brass sentinel, which I own and love. It's pretty tiny in 18350 mode, but you do have to rescrew the button every other day.

Rai seems tiny in 18350 mode (in reviews, I don't own one) and has a recessed button, so might fulfill your requirements. One problem: You remove the tube with the logo on it to get it down to 18350 mode. I've been looking into it as a backup mod.

Copper nemmys are beautiful; want one as third backup mod :)

Cronus? The locking mechanism, though, sounds high maintenance.

Im with the guy that said the 4Nine. I got one not too long ago and if your looking for small, its incredibly small, and thats in 18650. When using an 18350 it will more then dissappear in your hand. Trust me, in my hands in 18650 if I close my hand around it only part of my drip tip is barely visible.

4Nine looks gorgeous. What is the critter on the fire button? Looks like a cross between an owl and a lemur. eh.jpg

Get a tarsius. Smallest possible mod out there that handles 18350/490/650. A 350 with a quasar dripper is about as big as a 30ml dropper-style juice bottle. Not to mention that it features seamless extension tubes (like nemesis, but you can never find the extension joints. Never). Also has a recessed magnetic button that is entirely pin-less and a 1mm top cap that connects your atty direct to the battery. Almost impossible to find voltage drop. All in all, smallest mech mod at affordable price with unique features to boot.
