Best Mechanical Mod?

I've been vaping for... well, since they first started selling those craptastic Smoke Everywhere kits in mall kiosks. I'm not new to the process, but I've been on the good old eGo for a long, long, long time now and the Halo Triton for a little while. I'm looking for a change to something with removable batteries. What I'm not looking for is all the bells and whistles and tiny screens that I would never use. I have about two hundred dollars to spend toward getting started on something. What I'm looking for is opinions in regards to simple mechanical mods with either spring buttons or magnetic and the best tanks to use with them along with some suggestions for one stop shopping for all of it.

Thanks in advance!

I'd never be able to say which mech mod is the best for everyone. There are just so many choices available in many different styles.

At under $200 I'm a huge fan of the Vanilla by smok-e mountain. Two copper options (SS accents/brass accents), full brass and a stainless variety that come in several sizes. I own a copper w/brass caps in 18650 and it's a stunning performer. The copper contacts are going to require a little regular cleaning routine to keep in tip top shape, but I'm sure you're aware of that. It's also readily available at several reputable vendors.

As far as tanks go, are you looking for rebuildables or pre-coiled?

You can't lose by reading the APV discussion, better than any review. It is the every day experience of people who actually use the product. I decided on the very simple very plain Silver Bullet with a Kick. I like it and after reading other users and the the "altsmoke" forum for a while, I decided it was "best" (for me). This is the place to get straight story.

I'm looking for something similar to the Halo Triton Tanks with replaceable coils and something that will handle acidic juices. I know the Triton isn't recommended for any type cinnamon type liquids and those are one of my favorites. So maybe something glass or pyrex? I'm just now starting my research into all the different stuff available truth be told. I tend to stick with something for a long time.

I'll check out both the Vanilla and the Manhattan. :) Thanks!

I'm a little out of the "glassomizer" loop, but I'm hearing a lot of local buzz about kanger's aerotank mega. I'm also keeping a close eye on joyetech's delta, which isn't available yet but something to be aware of.

If you haven't already checked out the APV and clearomizer forums, go on over and give them a look. They've definitely helped me out in the past.

Is the $200 budget for the device alone, or is it meant to include the mod, topper, batteries, charger, ohm meter and voltage meter all together? If it's for everything combined, I would suggest looking at some clone options from Hcigar, Ehpro, or Infinite. Those companies seem to be the highest quality clones around. One of the most common clones that people seem to be happy with are the Hcigar Nemesis or the Infinite Stingray. I guess figure on around $40 for the clone if purchased from a US vendor? Check out 101vape.com

Do not go cheap on the batteries however. I've heard great things about the Sony VTC4 and 5. Also, don't go too cheap on the charger. Some of the lesser quality ones can either under charge or over charge your batteries, which will shorten overall life span. The Nitecore i2 or i4 generally seems to be reasonably priced and work well.

For toppers, for around $30ish I highly recommend the Kayfun Lite Plus from Ehpro. I think these are the best Kayfun clones out there. It's like a rebuildable bottom coil tank. Aside from building the coils, they are generally less of a hassle. Less leaky, but with better taste if the build is right. If you don't want to rebuild, then I suggest looking into cartotanks. You'll want a glass tank, with metal end caps and high quality o-rings to ensure a tight fit for a cartomizer. IBTanked has some great quality tanks for around $25. $5 more and you can get them custom painted. Never had an issue with their tanks. Never had a carto slip out either. Go to their complete tank section, and the site walks you through buying everything you need for one. For a mech mod, get the lower res cartos.

Also, if going into rebuilding, please make sure to pick up an ohm meter to test your coils resistance before firing them on the mech mod. A regulated device safe guards the batteries from firing any shorted atomizers, but a mech mod will fire anyway. Definitely get a multimeter or a voltage meter to check how much power is left in you batteries throughout use as well. This will ensure that you do not over drain them, and help to keep the battery life up.

Just as a replacement a Kanger T2. It's the same tank as the Triton but with 510/ego threading and uses the same replacement heads. But...there's always a but...on most mods you will need a 510 to ego adapter.

For under $200 to get a full "setup," I recommend 101vapes based entirely on one satisfactory transaction I had with them. This was my 'setup' order when I got into mechs a full week ago (so take this advice with the requisite grain of salt):

Smoktech Magneto V2 (with adjustable center pin) - $37.99

Youde IGO-W RDA - $10.99

Efest 18650 battery 2000maH button top - $6.99 ea (I got two)

That leaves you about $135 for an ohm meter, charger, kanthal, wick material, drip tip(s), and liquid of your choice. For kanthal I'd suggest eBay if you're brave with your credit card info, Amazon if you're not; the vape websites usually sell for about $5.00/3 feet, amazon and eBay it's closer to $5-6/100 feet.

Okay, after reading lots and lots and taking everyone's advice into account, I think I've settled on the Magneto from My Vapor Store. I chose them because they responded to every email I had with questions in under a half an hour. Can't beat that kind of service when I haven't even bought from them yet. I'm going to go with the Areotank II, but I'm uncertain as to what OHM replacement heads I should purchase. Can someone give me a quick rundown of the difference between 1.5 and 2.0 OHM in the way they vape?

I love my valkyrie clone. No topper required as its a hybrid. This is both good and bad as can't change to a different rda. But for 50$ its a nice mod that takes 18650s and has adjustable airflow. Another slight con is you need a multimeter (can pick them up at any hardware store)
