@donesmokin: I love that gooseneck! And I second the question - why regulating is better? I am certainly not an electronics engineer, but I know even regulators come in different flavors - some waste energy and get hot, others do not. And I'm really curious about the pulse width modulation technology - see the SVR, but also some cheaper mods. That seems to make a lot of sense.

Maybe it's the generic batteries that came with the Lavatube but the vape does suffer as the charge goes down. The Krimson Kustom evercools don't produce heat and the vape stays the same until the batteries shut down.

You will not find a better built PV than the 5 volt GLV. I think you made an excellent choice. Plus you moved up to a warmer vaping model. I now use a variable watt Darwin and love the build quality and all the features, especially the consistency that can't be topped with the use of regulated boost circuit technology. But I could vape on a 5 volt GLV and be quite satisfied, also. You definitely got one of the very best "mods" on the market. It just doesn't have some of the higher end features.
I agree with all but one thing... I personally do not think that it is one of the best mods on the market because I have never tried any other mod. I started with an EGO T and within weeks my local retailer had me convinced to purchase one of the GLV2's he was selling. He told me from my 2nd visit to his store that I would be getting one and enjoy it ALOT..... He was RIGHT.
To piggyback on what you said, yes the materials and build quality are outstanding, design and assembly are simple, and very catchy appearance without all the fancy bells and whistles. At this time I need nothing more than my GLV..... well maybe another one if I live that long (wife might put her spike heels up my backside if I do that).

The Darwin has some serious design flaws. It doesn't fit large tanks well, the battery is built in and the whole unit must be recharged when it dies. It looks cheap. The switch is awkward and the watt adjustment is too easily changed.

Provari is a well made piece. Excellent machining and built solid. I love mine. Drip a 3.0 ohm COV dual coil atomizer at 5 volts and so far so good. Bought three large batteries with the extension cap. Unfortunately they just upgraded the Provari and I got the old model but this is ok. It works quite well.

Put the Darwin guts in a Provari shell and you would have a killer mod.

How would you know about the Darwin? Have you owned one?

As for the ProVari, ProVape can keep it. I owned one but for me, I didn't like it. Too heavy for a tube mod and the E2 error was a PITA. No thanks.

To the OP...any mod that stops you from smoking is the best mod on the market.

Why do you have to be immature and trash another great PV? You don't see those of us who prefer the Darwin trashing the Provari. It's just moronic.

Both the Darwin and Provari are excellent PV's. But you can't use 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizers with the Provari as you can with the Darwin. You can't charge and vape on the Provari as you can with the Darwin. You don't get a full two year warranty at no extra charge with the Provari as you do with the Darwin. Many do use a tank with the Darwin. From what I have read (not verified personally), you do not get 21 - 35 hours on one charge with the Provari as you do with the Darwin. Looks are in the eye of the beholder and it is very well built and sturdy as I have dropped mine many times on concrete without a problem. You don't have to go through 15+ button pushes to get to a particular screen with the Darwin.

So there are differences between the two PV's. Both are top of the line and these "differences" do not make one better than the other. Trashing one because you are a fanboy of the other is less than mature.
