I'm trying to figure out what kind of atty I want to use in my day to day vaping. I work as a stock-monkey at Walmart, so I need something that can be sloshed and slooshed around for 8 hours without turning my vape case into a nicotine swamp.

1. A dripper seems like a silly thing to carry around at work, although they're great at home. Am I wrong in this assumption?

2.. I have a protank mini II, and probably will default to a protank II, as the mini hasn't leaked at work yet. The only problem with it is the flavor and vape production. If I can get better and portable, I'll go for it. Is there a different clearo that fits the bill? Or should I really just look elswhere?

3. Cartos: The idea of the poly fill kind of bugs me. That, and I think I may be harboring some, possibly, unreasonable dislike for cartos due to negative experiences with ciga-likes. Also, they'll be kind of stupid looking by themselves. Am I just being silly?

4. Which brings me to carto tanks. All the resentment toward cartos, but at least it has a better liquid capacity. Are they pretty solid on the not leaking department? Should I just get over my ciga-like based PTSD about cartos? lol

5. Gennies. I know they're pretty advanced build level things, but I'm wanting to go this direction anyway. Do they leak out the top? Are they portable, and sloshable, or will this be another at home/ in the car/ wandering around on a day off item like an rda?

I think those are most of my questions concerning my search, unless I'm missing a style. If that's the case, feel free to weigh in on the suitability of it too.

I carry mind on a lanyard around my neck that keeps it upright. I suppose you could find a place to hang it until it was time for your break. I don't know if they give you guys lockers or not.

There are few lockers, and I'd rather not go through the hassle of trying to get one. A lanyard is right out. I would break it, my gear, or my neck. lol

Crap dude. There was a thread with someone talking about a short clearo tank (i believe). It could hold almost 2 ml and was insanely short but same diameter as protank. I have been looking for a short tank for a while now, but when I saw the thread I just mentioned, I had just ordered an RDA. Kicking myself for not bookmarking it. I'll try to find it though.

There was a picture of it and it looked awesome.

If you get the right cartotank you shouldn't have leaking issues. As far as the gennies go, I've been taking my RSST to work with me and haven't had issues yet, but I'm on my feet all day and it stays pretty much upright in my hip pocket. I'd suggest one of the cartotanks that lock around the bottom of flanged cartos, pretty widely available, you shouldn't have any probs finding them cheap. Or, if you are going to be getting into rebuildables anyway, try rebuilding the coils on your Protanks, you can really improve the performance over stock once you get it down and keep the convenience. Also, I've heard good things about the Aspire tank, might be worth checking out.

You aren't - carrying the fluid in a bottle isn't the best solution. Should you want to drip-vape, the Reos are nice - although expensive.

2.. I have a protank mini II, and probably will default to a protank II, as the mini hasn't leaked at work yet. The only problem with it is the flavor and vape production. The best non-leaky .... clearo is the one that comes with the iTastes - check out iClear 16. I was on the same boat as you - have tried all the clearos out there, and they all freaking leak on me eventually, just not the iClears. The taste/vape is okay, although after a week or so, its time for new ones.

3. Cartos: The idea of the poly fill kind of bugs me. That, and I think I may be harboring some, possibly, unreasonable dislike for cartos due to negative experiences with ciga-likes. Also, they'll be kind of stupid looking by themselves. Am I just being silly?

Nah, the vape with Cartos is weird if you are coming from Clearos. You do get used to the "airy" vape though. The thing is - you really need a tank to go with this to keep it wet. Which brings us to the next question...

4. Which brings me to carto tanks. All the resentment toward cartos, but at least it has a better liquid capacity. Are they pretty solid on the not leaking department? Should I just get over my ciga-like based PTSD about cartos? lol

Now this is where I ended up for a leak-free, all day portable solution (well, one of my solutions). I may sound like a fan boy but J-Tanks are the ..... J-Tanks and Boge Cartos are a trouble free solution *provided* your battery mod prevent the tank from sliding down.

5. Gennies. I know they're pretty advanced build level things, but I'm wanting to go this direction anyway. Do they leak out the top? Are they portable, and sloshable, or will this be another at home/ in the car/ wandering around on a day off item like an RDA?

A Genesis style atty might be the thing, but they are heavy. I missed what your battery/mod situation is, so if you have an APV or mech, sure, try the Aga-T2. I built mine in under 10 mins the first time I sat down to do it. A little prep goes a long way, and yes, O-rings are your BEST friend to prevent leaks. With most if not all Genesis atomizers, you pretty much have to tweak either the air hole or the wick hole to make them wider etc to get the perfect vape (of course you may like a tight draw or a hotter vape etc). It's a *great* feeling to have control over these aspects though ;)

Good luck and vape on!

Yeah, I'm just waiting for my kanthal to arrive. It should be in the mailbox tomorrow. I plan on building Protank coils, ans well as a new coil for my el-cheapo RDA. I need to get as much coil build-time in as possible. Do you have any experience with the AGA-T2? Would it be a good fit for this application? If not, is there another Genny in the same price-range that would do the trick? I have to keep the cost down. Walmart...

I don't even have one (yet) but someone will say it...
If you want a PV that can take the occasional thump, you may want to consider a Provari Mini.
Smaller then I thought - look at it below compared to this chapstick!
Then you could get
a) A holster or something
b) Drop some more cash, and get the indestructable ProTrank - Tatroe Tank - all Stainless!

I'm buying a Magneto in a couple of days. This mini protank won't work, unless I buy the eGo top cap, or an adapter. lol

I don't mind heavy. I'm a little sad that so many mods are so small. I'm a huge geek. I think wandering aroud, tooting on something that looks like a lightsaber would be cool. lol

I would be detaching my tank, or whatever, between breaks, and putting it in a case.

My only gennie so far is the RSST, I think I got it for...$20ish? Not too bad, a little more than the AGA-T, but not much. Pretty easy to work with if you have all the crap to prepare the wicks. Took me a week or so to get it vaping like I wanted it, but since I got things worked out I haven't filled a clearo and sold my Protanks to a friend. Been swapping back and forth between the RSST on a mech and a REO mini I found on the classies, and drip once in awhile with a cheapie RDA on my SID. I had been using Valley View Vapes econotanks on Boge cartos. The grommet style caps where a bit of a pain in the ... to swap out cartos on, but NEVER a drop leaked, and they are super cheap. The gennie really is a much nicer vape though, IMHO, but there is a learning curve.

Yeah, I've looked at the RSST, but I'm a bit wary of plastic tanks. I prefer something that I can put any liquid I want into.

Yeah, I worried about that too, my fave juices are orange-y and citrus, but I haven't had an issue yet. I believe they are coming out with a pyrex replacement tank, if it's not out already.

Above is the VMod from Vapage. It's a bottom feeder mechanical box mod. Uses an 18650 battery that lasts me nearly 2 days between charges, and has an internal tank that holds 9 ml. There's a smaller version that uses a 14500 battery and has a 4 ml tank. Comes with an atomizer and cartomizer. $85.

MVP has a built-in rechargeable battery that can last up to 3 days between charges. Can be used as a passthru. Variable voltage. Size of a smart phone. Doesn't look like something from a head shop or a ladies sex toy. Kit comes with the USB charging cord and a free iClear clearomizer. $50.

gripper-mod-smoktech-18350.jpgGripper with tank.jpggripper_&_knucklehead.jpg

Above is the Smoktech Gripper, a tiny mechanical mod that uses an 18350 battery (7-8 hours between charges). It uses a flangeless XL length carto which fits inside the mod for a smaller form factor. It can use other juice attachments if you order the Gripper Extender attachment. Only $25 and $4 for the extender.

All three of the above mods are pocket-friendly and very durable. I have all three. I use the Gripper primarily for vaping at the cinema.

For tanks, I recommend a pyrex cartotank from IBTanked. These are high quality pyrex tanks with either stainless steel or anodized aluminum (in colors) caps for just under $30. Three diameters and three tank lengths. They are the only tank manufacturers offering a Halfling tank which use a shorty cartomizer. This would work great on the Gripper described above.
