Samsung 25Rs under 100 watts, Sony VTC4s if you're going to run the Siggie wide open. RTDvapor, Illumn and Orbtronic are the places I recommend to get authentic ones. Yes, there are a lot of "clone" batteries out there, and some of them are junk. They're mostly "rewraps," that is they buy batteries from any old where and shrink wrap their own logo on them. Some are good, but you never know what actual battery is under the wrap. In a high power mod, this can be a problem. A big problem.

I scored some vtc 5's from DNA the batteries are awesome I actually ment to buy em from RTD but had a brain fart. They were more expensive then RTD and the shipping was slow they through in a free juice but didn't give me the juice I asked for went into the trash..... it was a meh... experience.

The new VCT5's are 20a batteries, not 30 like the old ones.

If your going to run it wide open use 30amp batteries. These mods are in series not parallel so you don't get double the amps. Two 20a batteries in series are 20amps not 40

There are indeed 'clone' batteries.
One of the easiest and cheapest things to fake. You buy a 50 cent battery and wrap it with a fake... um... wrap.
Last year, a UK e-cig company were selling fake VTC5s. You'd have thought that would end their rise in the e-cig world, but no. People think what they want to think and hundreds of vapers calling them crooks and liars didn't even dent their reputation. Funny old world, it takes 2 seconds to google this company (and how they operate).

That's why I like forums. :)

Oops. N00b question indeed. Would these be appropriate for my 150W Sigelei TC mod?

Any good 20A battery will be fine up to 120W-130W in my opinion. The HG2 will last the longest before needing charging. If you're going above that, or chain vaping like crazy, then I recommend a good 30A battery like the VTC4.

With a regulated mod, it doesn't matter if the batteries are in series or parallel if you just use the wattage each battery "sees" for the calculation of how much current is drawn from the battery.

Max Current = Max Wattage / Min Battery Voltage

The min battery voltage for a regulated mod is typically 3.2V, adjust as necessary.

    Sooooo....at 130W, which is 65W per battery...

Max Current = 65W / 3.2V = 20.3A per battery. It's the same whether the mod is wired in series or in parallel.

YES there are a lot of "fake" batteries - so you are VERY smart to ask where to buy them.. Where NOT to buy them? Ebay...just too risky you'll get an inferior battery re-wrapped...

I love my LG HG2's the best. And I love my Samsung 25R's second-best.
I get batteries from RTD Vapor, and from Illumn, usually.

Looking for some long lasting, consistent 18650 batteries. Are there clones for batteries? Is that even a thing :/ ? If there are clones I'm also looking for a reputable vendor that I know will provide authentic merchandise. Not looking to pay more than I absolutely have to though. Thanks!

As others have suggested, reputable battery sources are RTD Vapor, Illumination Supply, IMR Batteries, and Orbtronics. You will be taking a risk buying from places like Amazon or Ebay, as many of these vendors purchase batteries from disreputable suppliers (and they may not know this themselves).

You can't go wrong with brands like AW, Panasonic, LG, Samsung, or Sony. Just make sure that the model you choose has the specifications that your application requires. These brands actually manufacturer their own cells. They separate their batteries into tiers or bins according to their quality. They sell their first tier as their own brand of batteries, and sell their lesser quality batteries to other companies who re-wrap the bare cells with their own brand wrapper.

Many of those "manufacturers" (who merely rewrap batteries) advertise over-rated specifications, so be mindful of this should you buy Efest, Imren, Trustfire, Vamped, MXJO, etc.
