Hey,

I want to start with rda but the problem is my budget. Therefore I decided to get a clone off fasttech or a similar site that's not over priced.
I'm also wondering if there is a VERY big difference between original and clone or if it's just a small difference.

Can you recommend me a rda and a Mechanical Mod clone?

Thanks for all the help.

I use my big block 454 the most. that one is capable of quad coil, but you can single coil as well. the flavor is great in that guy and holds enough juice to not have to drip as much

the Doge and Mutant X are pretty good, but for the price of the clone, you might as well get the authentic (sub $40 American)

vertias is awesome. thing never leaks unless you put like 30+ drops in the thing. Kind of hard to go dual coil in that guy

I'm running dual tiger coils with 26 gauge and .8 in the big block 454 at 80-90 watts

You don't have to buy a clone to get a good inexpensive RDA. I got the Doge for $34 and the Mutation X for $25. Both are very well performing RDAs.

I currently am using my MuteX exclusively. My authentic Plume Veil hasn't seen any love in weeks.

Ah, thanks for enlightening me, I'm pretty new to this and almost all ones I found were over $50. Will try to find Mutation X :D

Since I can't find any of the authentic with free shipping or cheap shipping, I'm going for a veritas clone and see how that ends up xD

If you are entirely new to RDAs I would suggest you get something other than a Veritas. It is a very good flavor atty from what I have heard but also a bit finicky to build properly. It will take a bit of a learning curve and that might frustrate you if you are new to building RDAs.

I've watched a few vids on how to coil. Is it harder than this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWdQOdBzmXY

And do you know what atto he's using?

you really have 2 "issues" with this atty, compared to a more traditional dual/tri post deck

the longer leads, and the trapping of those leads

if you look how the inventor coils them, its for dual, like a genny, and coils them like a sleeper coil (fold wire in half, trap middle of wire at positive terminal, coil using the top deck (?) as a stand with your drill bit, trap negative leads)

depending on your clone, sometimes those negative screws can be small. not necessarily a huge deal, but if you do tiger coils like myself, then can be a PITA

I will now go watch videos of it, hopefully it won't be too hard :D

I've not used one but have seen posts here from experienced builders where even they had troubles and frustration.

IMO, for a first timer I would suggest an atty that is capable of single or dual coil setup. Also, a posi t-post would be a tremendous help for a newbie to build duals on.

One of the first rebuildable tanks that I bought was the RSST. Some suggested that as a beginner, I should try a KF style tank. I ignored their suggestions and got the RSST. I fought with that thing forever and it almost completely turned me off of rebuilding entirely. Ended up getting an R91 and found it so much easier to build properly.

I just wanted to let the OP understand that the Veritas is for advanced users IMO.

My first RDA was the Plume Veil. I was hooked with my first build. It was super easy. I got somewhat frustrated with the leaking with it though. Found the Mute X and it has a pretty deep well. I've since ordered the v2 that comes with dual as well as single coil set up now, has a posi t-post for ease of mounting duals and slanted afc tabs.
