Hey Everyone!

I am thinking about getting a Rebuildable dripping atomizer today. I have never built my own atomizer before so I am new to this. I have watched some videos online and it seems simple enough. I have enough common sense to figure it out.

I need a recommendation for something that is very simple to start with, something that is cheap (Hopefully $30 or less) just in case I don't like the whole rebuilding thing, and I need something that is made for 1.5ohm builds or higher. I am using an MVP2 so I cannot go subohm. I honestly don't even know how to make sure that my build it over 1ohm. Any tips on this would be helpful as well (such as make sure to make your coils tight or whatever to make the resistance higher)...

Well, you want to start out by getting an Ohm Meter or a Multimeter. This will allow you to check your resistance of your coil.

I own several drippers, but the one I started out with was a Trident V2 Clone. These are nice & easy to build on IMO as they use slots & Cap Screws instead of holes to trap your wire. If I were you I would start out with an 8-wrap single coil with 28ga Kanthal. That should put you at about 1.3-1.4 Ohms......You don't want to do Dual coils as this will cut your resistance in half and your MVP won't fire it....

There are several nice clones that you can start with; I just recommended the Trident as that is what I started with and it seems like a good choice....

Do I really need to get an Ohm Reader? My MVP has a built in ohm reader; is it no accurate or is there any other reason the built in reader wouldn't be acceptable for reading builds?

Do you have any experience with this? - SMOKTech RDA Rebuildable Atomizer

I wanted to get something from My Vapor Store because they are right in my area and I get anything I order from them the next day. This RDA looks soooo simple and it is very inexpensive but I am not sure if it is even worth getting.

You can certainly use the MVP, that should work just fine....

I don't have any exp. with the SMOK RDA to be honest, so I can't help you there....

That was my first RDA, infact it is my only one. I got it because I had no experience with RDAs and I figured it would be a good one to learn on. It is a good one to learn on and I'm glad I bought it. But right now right this second I have an IGO W in my shopping cart and getting ready to pay for it. It's on sale and is the same price as the SMOKtech one. I just don't know if the IGO W will work on an MVP2

The IGO W is fine on your MVP as long as you keep your builds above 1.4 ohms or so. Yes it will fire below that but not effectively and you will strain the circuitry. I use it at 1.6 to 1.8 just to taste different juices and also to break up the day. Its not the greatest but it gets the job done.

Thanks George!
I plan to get a mech mod relatively soon so maybe it would be a better dripper for something like that. Yes?

What Tunafish (love it) says is correct. But ...with the mech mod you can go lower ohm...make easier double coils..etc. Like I said...I use it at a higher ohm level for the purpose of getting tastes for devices I will run at that ohm level like my Kayfun, for instance. I use it on my MVP and other devices with no problem firing.

No first hand experience with these but I've heard very good things. And for the price you really cant go wrong..

You seems like you know your ish....so....How do I build a higher ohm coil? What is the trick to get the ohm you want? Do I make the coil really tight? Do I make it really loose? Do I spread out the coil or keep it close together? What do I do???

Well I'm gonna go ahead and get it. It's on sale and I can get it for less than $10 and free shipping so I figure that's a good deal.

I think it's a great first choice, since it was mine too! I'm using it on a ProVari mini with no issues, except when I built dual-coils w/too low ohms, as the ProVari has an amp limit similar to your MVP.
Currently running a 2.2ohm Tricro coil and I can run it up to 5.8 volts (just over 15W)
I didn't care for the very tight draw of the stock air holes, so I drilled them out on my drill press with a 1/16th bit. Might be a tad bit too airy for me, but with the right amount of cotton wick, it's a good draw. 1/16th is the smallest bit I have on hand. I might order another W and drill it out with a smaller bit, as I think I could get more flavor that way.
