@ Pete91, out of the couple dozen or so tanks I have, I recommend the Hotcig Taifun GT-T 2S or authentic GT 2, the Rose V2, Lemo/2, Kayfun V4/28mm or just a straight up Kayfun or Russian. Honorable mentions to Focloud, Erl, Aqua 2, and Squape R. Yes they all have their pluses and minuses. I use DNA40s, Kangsxin 40 and SX Mini M Class all Ni200.
All have been great for TC, some are easier than others.
Taifun 2's: Easy build with 2.5mm coil 6 wraps spread with either cotton or Rayon or my personal favorite but a little more difficult a formed SS mesh tube with OC cotton overwrap that sustains 24W chain vaping at 360F. Somewhat mouth to lung and somewhat direct to lung depending on inhale strength but with my build sustaining 24W on a single coil at 360F the flavor concentration is outstanding.
Rose V2 or even Kaiser: Takes a lot of experimentation to get just the right amount of wick in slots to wick well but not flood/leak but great flavor for around 12W mouth to lung. Rose a lot easier to wick than Kaiser.
Lemo's: Basically a Kayfun with a lot more air flow for direct to lung. 3mm coil 7-8 wraps with cotton or Rayon. 18W sustained chain vaping at 360F.
Kayfun V4: I have four of these one authentic, two clones and a 28mm big one. In every one I remove the spring and place a washer under the center pin nut in the bottom section. I file or stone the washer to have four straight sides to match the square nut. I found the springs just did not work with TC. But take it out, add the washer mod and it TCs just fine. 12-16W mouth to lung. One downside is with 100VG they will not flow the juice without drilling the four juice holes to 1.7mm or 2mm on the big or you can just crack the fill stem from time to time to release the vacuum.
Kayfun V <4/Russian 91: 8-12W takes TC just fine. Inexpensive and readily available. I use the Quartz kits and top fill toppers. definitely mouth to lung.
For dual coil I prefer the Focloud to the Goblin for flavor concentration. Silverplay a PITA to fill with 100VG unless you change the tank section. A better option than the SP is the RSBT II which is top fill and I really like the elongated air holes.
My first TC build was on a big Fogger with dual vertical 5mm coils. I could throw 40W into it but prone to leaks. Even a heavily modified Wolverine (out of box no seal at chimney top) I have built with dual 12 wrap 3mm coils and sustains 50-60W chain vaping. I have even TC'd a Hygeia, Delta 2, Subtank, Melo/Atlantis etc Clearomizer cartridges. The point is, you can get any RTA or Clearomizer to TC with enough patience and dexterity. You can get them all to work with Ni200 and TC.
I have to say the easiest to build are the Taifun GT's, Kayfun types, Erls and Squape R. The Aqua 2 is designed to be built with either single or dual coils as the air holes are threaded and can be blocked off with a screw.
From time to time I have had TC issues (ie jumping out of TC mode) on just about all of them. All due to post/510 screws needing tightened, bad contacts in cartridges or mod 510s needing cleaned.
I have a Crown with RBA section in the mail and expect it will be most like the Taifuns but with more airflow for more direct to lung. We will see.
I really like the Kayfun V4 features of juice shutoff and easy top fill but two things. They don't flow 100VG as well as others and forget the spring for TC, even the new ones on the authentic with 4S kit. If it flowed my home made 100VG better it would be my favorite.
With that said, The ones I vape the most and are my favorites are the (1st place) Taifun GT 2's, (close second place and sometimes 1st place) the Rose V2 and the (third place) Lemo's. But I like all of them albeit for different reasons and to a lesser degree. Even the Wolverine which took modding but just for its sheer massiveness and bulk SS and capacity. Much like my old Arnold but bigger.
For ~$20US I suggest trying a HOTCIG GT 2-S. Then if you like it, you can go for the authentic for ~$170US. I don't see a difference in performance. I haven't tried the GS, its concept of operation is much like the Flash E which I do have, It works well but the GTs are easier to wick. Tons of info in the forums here, lots of knowledgeable folks here, if you get something and need help just ask.
