Looking for an rta to get started with, I've never built anything before, but want something good when I figure it out. PBusardo seems to run Russians and Kayfuns a lot, so I was looking at them, but what do people consider the best right now? Must be a tank atty, i dont drip, and needs to be reliable, good quality.

Any opions on what people like welcome...Thanks.

You can't go wrong with either of those. The Russian is a clone of the Kayfun, so they are almost identical. Both (if authentic) are of high quality. Even though the Russian is a clone, it was designed by one of the original Kayfun guys, so it's sorta a clone and sort of not (to my understanding). Either way, an original authentic Russian is of very high quality (machining, etc.).

Of course, you can buy clones of both, which vary in quality. I picked up a Kayfun clone today for about $40. It's pretty high quality and is the best tasting tank I've ran across. I just can't see myself buying an authentic for over $100. But if you can afford that, it's probably the best way to go.

I have also been looking at the squape, it's expensive, but looks easy to build.

There's a few understatements. You could probably build the thing with your eyes closed and still get a decent coil in there. I got my SQ R cuz I wanted a tank that does it all so I could keep spending my money on RDAs. Plus, I like both mouth-to-lung and straight up lung hits and the SQ R shines on both. She's a tall one though and at $200+ with tax, delivery, and the damned W deck. She's no cheap date either ... heavy drinker that one ...

Depends on where you are at in your vaping journey.

And by that I mean how you like your draw. If you are still primarily a mouth to lung hitter you`ll like the KF. It still hold its own in the flavor department when compared to a orchid in MHO.

But if you are starting to go towards a more open draw for lung hits, then you`ll want a Orchid.

Atty`s that are in between are the Lemo, and a Erlkonigin.

Thing is it seems new atty`s are coming out every day, so even what one considers to be the best today, may be second best tomorrow. Its best for you to look at each individual design knowing what you want from it and make the decision.

The Lemo's draw is more open than the Orchid....by a slight margin. Both are great tanks for lung hits.

Lets start by saying I like mouth to lung inhales I started vaping to quite smoking, Not to blow big clouds
Here are 4 good choices and a few pros and cons on all 4
#1 Kay-fun + excellent flavour, easy to build. - not easy to get just right, tools required to fill
#2 Tai-fun + good flavour easy to build. no tools to rewick , and fill - No AFC
#3 Rose V2 + excellent flavour good AFC no tools to rewick , and fill - Hard to build and rewick a little on the big and heavy side
#4 Squape R + good flavour excellent AFC easy to build no tools to rewick , and fill - a little on the big and heavy side

Have you looked into the Erlkonigin? People seem to love the flavor.

Yes These are the tanks I own :)
4 Kay-Funs
2 Tai-funs
1 Russian 91%
1 Rose V2
1 Erlkonigin
1 Squape R
1Tai-fun GS
1 Mini Kayfun
1 Fogger mini
2 Fogger V4.1
1 Aqua
I have a Flash E Vapour V3 on the way I have read good things about it :)
I will say the Rose V2 all thou really hard to build and wick is the one I like the best:)
Then the Kay-funs and Russian 91% it's really hard to beat a well built Kay-Fun :)

I have a bunch of different ones. I like the eXpromizer. eXvape is out of Europe and is machined really well. For example, I cut my finger on the Lemo. The eXpromiser is a combination of the features of the Kayfun 3.1 and the Taifun GT. I think they did really well. Worth a look. Phil Busardo has a review of it on YouTube.

Hope helps

I had the opposite experience.

While it's sold from a German company, the Expromizer is manufactured in China. I ordered my v1.1 directly from Exvape and the machining on mine is absolutely terrible. The threads on the chimney are so rough they snag the cotton from my wick as I screw it on. I do realize that my experience may be the exception, but it soured me on any future purchases.

The vape from the Expromizer was excellent intially. I stopped using it recently when it developed an internal resistance I could not repair. All my builds read significantly over what they actually were at the 510. A thorough cleaning and replacement of the spring and brass 510 contact failed to repair the issue. So it sits.

On the other hand, both of my Lemos have darn near perfect machining from top to bottom. Again, I realize that might not be universally true for everyone.
