Kayfuns in it's varied versions, be it clones or not. May even be called different names like aqua.

Can there be any improvements made to its design, built?

Pros.
  • Easy to set up even for novices.
  • Great taste and flavor.
  • Can become smoke-stacks if you are inclined. Experience required.
  • Built like a tank. Even in the cheapest of clones.
  • Multitude of parts available allows for great customization. Gold? Black? Clear? Coloured? No problem.
  • Leak proof. Will leak if you mess up but it will happen only once.
  • Great bottom feed/vacuum assist designs that is copied over and over which eliminates dry burn conditions. Less is more here. Less wick materiel will stop wick issues

Cons.
  • Heavy. Makers needs to make the parts a bit lighter.
  • Big. In addition to mini kit, we need mid kit.
  • No Glass tank. Only in SS or PMMA tanks. At least I have not seen one.
  • Easier filling. Like pull out plug with seal that allows filling without having screw driver.
  • Unwieldy on EGO type smaller batteries.

My wish::2cool: someone make a smaller version like "in the Protank mini size but with bigger built deck which uses the whole base as a build deck".
Please add your wish list here.
Happy 2014!

Cheers

Here you go: Custom Kayfun Quartz Tank - The Vape Source

As for the Kayfun being the topper of the year, I wouldn't go that far. It really depends on what type of vape you're after. I enjoy my Kayfun and three Russians a great deal, but for certain juices I rather use an Aqua (disagree with the OP that it's the same design). Generally, I like the Kayfun for juices that taste better to me at a cooler temperature, like many fruit e-liquids. For tobaccos and savory desserts, I prefer the Aqua, since it's meant for dual-coils and gives a warmer vape.

Thank you for your opinion.
And I agree that as far as my experience go, My builds are geared to cooler vape that goes well with fruity flavors.
Also, I was eluding to the fact that both tank (KF and Aqua) uses vacuum and bottom feeding method. Not really saying they are the same.

Would you mind expending on the following.
1. What you may consider better topper?
2. Can KF be built with hotter coils to help with tobaccos and savory desserts?

As I learn, I may need hotter vapes soon as I venture into the mech mods.

Thank you.:)

1) I don't really consider any atomizer to be the best. Different vapers want different things. Some want more flavor and others prefer bigger clouds. Like I mentioned earlier, the type of juice matters too.

2) You can go low, but I personally don't recommend it. For me, the Kayfun works best in the 0.9-1.2 ohm range. It's really easy to melt insulators with the Kayfun. I have friends that prefer 0.3-0.5 ohms and a few of them have melted Kayfun insulators. Most of the time, I build my Kayfun in the 0.9-1.2 ohm neighborhood and my Aqua in the 0.5-0.7 range.

Just want to say I love your reviews on Youtube! You are one of the few that gets right to the point with an open honest opinion. Keep up the great work!

I will gladly give it MOST POPULAR for all the reasons you list.

As to best, I must agree that is all in personal preference.

I very much enjoy my Kayfuns, 8 in all - different configurations/manufacturers. I must admit though, My Ithaka tanks are just as enjoyable and(for me) only slightly more complicated to build. This is well offset by the length of time they can be used between builds.

I used to think the Kayfun was the best topper until I got a Taifun GT. The ease of filling, no screwdriver required, can rewick/rebuild without draining the tank, easy to work on, quiet vape, no dry hits, no flooding, no gurgling, big flavour, thick creamy vapour output and lots of it, so versatile you can set it up in a myriad of ways - all these things make the TGT my favourite atomiser. It's just my personal opinion, but the TGT outclasses my Kayfun. The TGT scores a 10 for me. I know the TGT can flood and/or give dry hits but you learn how to set it up so this doesn't happen pretty quickly. I have mine setup like a dripper with a bed of cotton in the bottom of the deck and straws of SS mesh feeding juice to the bed. What an amazing saturated vape. Outstanding.

Next is the Dome (A Genesis style atty), which when set up right produces an amazing vape. Dual coiled with cotton U-wicks is just the Don. Vape quality gets a 9.

Next is the Ithaka. When set up right, it's quiet, has lots of flavour, Vape quality is a 9

Next is the Kayfun. It's a breeze to setup, and the only time I've ever had a dry hit off it is with the SS tank section on and I couldnt see the juice level and I vaped it completely dry. Vape quality gets an 8.

Next is the Fogger V4. Amazing flavour but the vapour is thin. Gets a 7 but only a preliminary 7 cause I only had it a week. I'll try using less cotton next time, see if I can get the saturation of the vape to increase.

I'm waiting for a 3D RDA in the vapemail. I would envisage it will cause a bit of renumbering of the above list :)

I call bs here is a kayfun at 98 watts and with no melted insulators.

World of difference when the chimney is on and the heat can't dissipate quickly. I've melted insulators by accident with a 1.2-ohm coil, foolishly leaving my mod unlocked in my bag for a few minutes.

I have a kayfun as well as a prometheus, as much as I like the simplicity of the kayfun, the Prometheus has better airflow, vapor production and the flavor is just about on par. Plus the Prometheus is a bit more friendly at lower ohms IMO. My Igo-W is awesome aside from its small size and right now my Cryptex is giving me a super smooth tasty vape, so it's hard to say what is the best, also love my Omega as well as my Lotus.....
