Thanks again, guys. Based on my MTL vaping style and the Goblin's AFC and single-coil adapter, I'm going for the Goblin clone just as soon as FT processes a refund I've had in the queue for the last couple weeks. I appreciated Two_Bears' blog comments about the FT Monster Mini clone, so I'll pick up a couple of those at the same time
I use the kayfun Monster Mini V3 for two reasons.

1. If i break it put a new $1.70 bell cap on it. If i broke the Silverplay Nano bell cap i am unable to replace it.

2. I really prefer single coil attys.

I like the Serpent Mini (I know you said you didn't care for it), but even more, I love my Geekvape Avocado 24. Simple and easy to build on, you can do either single or double coil (single gives better flavor IMO), and the flavor is great. It's also only around $25. Just a suggestion. vape on!

I loved the Serpent Mini for about a week, then it started tasting burned (without actually being burned) no matter what I tried. After getting my iStick Pico in the mail today I've become a little more motivated to dial in a mini tank so I've been fiddling with a 2ml slam cap on one of my Kayfun bases and after dialing the power way back and increasing inrementally, I actually have it pretty vapable. I'd definitely give the Serpent Mini another try... if I hadn't given it to my son a couple weeks ago. It's a beautiful atty, though, and I may pick up another one at some point after I get a bit more experience with minis. The Avacado 24 is a gorgeous atty, too... I hadn't seen those before and I'm tempted to give it a try, especially given what you wrote about it, but I don't have a mini-mod that'd work well with a 24mm RTA, and I've already ordered the Goblin Mini.

The kfun mini monsters? If so, another wise choice..
If you want a larger Juice capacitty get a Kayfun lite plus atty anx get a base of the kayfun Monster Mini V3 and Ir will fit perfectly

$4.11 Replacement Base for Kayfun Monster V3 RTA Atomizer (Base (Kayfun Monster V3), Gold) at m.FastTech.com.

If you want another color look at the picture showing the bottom of the base.

If you see 528 custom on the bottom it will NOT fit the old Kayfun lite plus tanks. At least tge old style Kayfun barrel will not fit..

On my left hand i have three fingers curled up from Duprodens contracture. Completely unable to use them. Only my thumb and index finger works on my left hand, and building the Serpent Mini is impossible.

Sorry to hear that, Two_Bears. I guess you've tried something like the Coil Master Coiling Kit? I ran across this video when I first built my Serpent Mini, and was so impressed with the CM winding jig that I bought a knockoff from FT even though I don't have any trouble winding micro coils around drill bits, etc.. The jig is so cool to use that I wound up re-coiling my attys a few times just for the fun of it, and I can quite easily hold the jig base with left thumb and forefinger while I wind with the right hand. The FT knockoff only has an overhand feed hole, btw, but the authentics have both overhand and underhand feed holes for wrapping in either direction. I dunno what kind of coils you wind, but I can wrap perfect twisted .28 Kanthal in mine with a little bit of fiddling.

Wrapping the coil is not the problem.

My problem is with the lack of mobility in my left hand installing a coil on my Kayfun Monster Mini i sometimes have 10 attempts before i get the first lead trapped.

A Kayfun Monster Mini V3 base with Post holes would be a real God send for me..

Ah, my bad. I was actually responding to your comment about the Serpent Mini and somehow got the idea that winding that backwards coil was the issue with the Serpent.

I'd caught your difficulties with the Kayfuns from your blog or some other post earlier in the day and even though I can mount coils on a Kayfun base, it's a royal pain in the neck. I've hunted for a Kayfun-style base with grub screws and had no luck, but it looks like a 4-post Orchid base would fit my KFL+2 clones so I might pick up one of those at FT and try a single-coil build.

I rocked an Orchid V3 for a long time in single coil mode.

Tamp cotton into the unused Juice wells and screw on the barrel to keep tge plugs in place. Works very well single coil mode.

I rocked my v3 under a Kayfun bell cap.
