I throw the coil unit in 151 proof vodka for about a half hour - tends to break up the gunk. After about three cleanings I pitch it. Lasts for months that way. ymmv depending on type of eliquids - sugary and dark eliquids will gunk up more quickly.

Here's some videos on cleaning the eGo-c and eGo-t - even the eGo-t ones are useful for the eGo-c

I tried my hand at a few cleanings today while sampling different flavors. I guess I didn't clean well enough. Simply rinsing in hot water and dry burning didn't cut it. I got flavor cross contamination and then burning taste, had to ditch the coil.

From now on I will have lots of spare coils and soak used ones in Grain Alcohol and let dry over night, while I use another when changing flavor.

One nice thing to have - unless you have a VW that detects ohms is the ohm meter like the one at madvapes. It has a 808 and a 510 connection so you'll need a 510 to eGo adapter for most clearos... (and the adapters can come in various qualities... sigh) but sticking them on the meter when the draw gets tight and then cleaning them and checking afterwards has been a good routine for me. If you have a multimeter, of course that works too, but I find this easier....

One thing... wicking can sometimes come apart from too long a PGA bath. Why I keep it at @ a half hour.... and frankly, you can use them right afterwards. The pga burns off quickly and doesn't impart much of a flavor.....
