Hello

I used forum search and "ECF google search" before making a new thread but I think it happened to many new vapers on ECF - information overload. So I decided to open thread.

Currently I'm in the process of finding my all day vape. I got Volt from Smokeless and because I didnt like most of the juices I wasted at least 15 cartos. So I want to find best method to test sample juices. I already ordered DSE901 atty for direct dripping (as I understand it will fit my 808d1 volt batt or passthrough). Reading some forum posts I found that there are some other fancy devices like fluxomizers and clear tanks. So what you recommend just stick with DSE901 atty direct dripping or buy something else fluxo, tank , anything else?

I'm curious as to this as well. Let me know how that 901 works for you. I already tried this, but it didn't work very well for me. I'm not sure it it was user error or if there was something wrong with the atty. I did what most people suggested, 3-4 drips on the mesh/bridge, let sit a few minutes, add 1-2 drops more and vape. I blew out the atty before to get rid of the primer as well.

All I got was a nasty burnt taste. Burned it, didn't inhale for a bit, blew it all out again, tried again. I got tons of vapor, but the taste was bad. Not sure what happened there. I have a volt too for now, I have read (and will try) the fluxo's can be cleaned easily and such, I've cleaned cartos out and tried it that way.

That's the best way for tasting that I've read about though yes.

You can carefully pull the polyfil out of a KR808-D1 cartomizer and drip on the coil. It will only hold maybe a drop or two, but usually you get pretty good flavor.

You can also buy a 808 to 510 adapter at places like GoodProphets.com and other forum vendors and use a 510 atty to drip. Dont forget to pick up a drip tip. Delrin ones work best.

yeah Shiloh that's what I thought too so I went back and checked the site to make sure I ordered the right thing (not LR) and it just states "standard resistance" so I'm assuming that's acceptable for a volt.

Juice, I should try that. I did see a video about it a few days ago.

2.2 ohm standard resistance should be fine on a KR808. Don't go any lower though or you'll kill your tiny battery fast.
If you have a 5V passthru you'll need a HR 3.0 or you'll burn your juice.

Yeah I think the Volt cartos are somewhere between 2.4-2.7 resistance so I figured they might need the 3.0hm's too for some flavors--good info. The passthru does run hotter than the regular batteries.

Is 510 better for dripping?

shilohcalista, I think I can try reverse Taryn spin to speed up process of drying carto.

Cynder, I let you know how my 901 atty experiment will go. By the way how did you clean your carto? did your method washed away previous flavors? I guess some flavors simply can't be cleansed.

My first experience dripping, I watched that video you were talking about and used a Coolcart cartomizer (3.3) on my passthru and it was perfect. Pretty much totally gave up cartomizers after that. I was hooked on dripping. Dripped on LR attys on Egos after that and finally switched to a bottom feeder REO to simplify. I've been content for 7 months now with the REO, but have collected 3. Waiting on the REO variable voltage model next year now because I can't give up the convenience of just filling the bottle.

901s should be just as good as the 510s. Some people prefer them. Always best to avoid adapters if you can--One more thing to clean. 510s are just more common and available.

Spinning does speed it up considerably. If you have one of those rubber tipped eye glass necklaces, they hold a carto and work great for spinning. You can even do two at a time.

I don't know if it works or not but I heard of people pulling the liquid back out with a syringe- the lengths we go through to get this right....lol

The reverse taryn spin can also get some of the previous juice out. However, in answer to your question, I flushed them out with boiling water. Followed a video I found on youtube that used a syringe type set up to flush em out. They took a while to dry but seemed to work alright. But that was on cartos that were nearly empty. I don't think that is a good method to use on full cartos you don't like the taste of. I know for sure that cherry one I just could not dispel the flavor no matter what and ended up tossing it. Cherry from SI, sorry, but it tastes exactly like cough syrup. :p

some milder flavors (vanilla) were easy but others not so much. Though sometimes if you add to a near empty carto you might get something you like...I added gorilla juice to a grape one for example. Wasn't too bad. hehe.

True :). Month ago I didnt even knew about ecigs and now it's becoming my new hobby, whole new wild world to explore :)
I tried reverse Tyren spining and got most of the juice out of cart. :)

yeah I didn't really boil them, I just used boiled water and flushed em out. It worked decent, I didn't have a carto die on me..but yes they take forever to dry. It's why I tried the dripping..I so wanted that to work!

Yeah me too. I've got two vapers here who have to eat as well so was hoping to breathe new life into those babies. I quickly converted to 510 cartos and got adapters too as the 510's are readily available easier to find deals, etc.
