In an EVOD type design, there's a replaceable head that costs roughly 1 to 2 bucks per, depending on who you buy it from.

But - don't you think there would be a market for a simple bottom coil design where the coil and wick are modular and pop-in replaceable?

I know many people wind their own coils, insert wicks, and rewire to the head. Don't you think it would be pretty straight forward to go one step further and have Just the coil and wick part be an easy, modular replaceable item? Instead of replacing the whole head for a buck or two, you'd probably have a coil and wick module for a fraction of that.

While I'm only in my 50s, my eyes and hands are at the point where there is no way I can do a - I know fairly simple - coil and wick rebuild. I'd love to be able to pop something out and a new one back in, and I think there would be a market for that simplicity.

?

i can understand the grasp of the concept.

and i have a somewhat idea to spit.

something like the kayfun design i guess, but with no screws to hold the wires- almost like a rubber push grommet.

imagine a kayfun/erlkonigan deck, no screws, just slide in the coil and wick - when you screw on the chimney it pushes force on a robber grommet, that essentialy locks the coil in place as your placing the chimney on.

idk something to chuck into ideas :p

Thanks for the response.

I'm going to take a look at that Kayfun design.
