Just a little observation here...

If you come home from work and change clothes in the dark (I prefer it dark after a long day, kinda sensory deprivation like)...

and you have a pair of black shorts laying on your bed...

and you have your Brass Beauty in the bag that Corey ships it in (which is black Bob, you'll see one day :w00t:)...

and you go to grab the shorts...

and your Brass Beauty is lying on said shorts...

do not, again I repeat DO NOT, drop said Brass Beauty on your foot

:blink::blink::blink::blink::blink:

:-x:-x:-x:-x:-x

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Corey, how long does it take to drill each bore?

It used to take a lot less time before Nauti talked me into doin' 7075... :D
Now,...it's hot. on. the. street. so every pair since, has had at least one 7075 block involved... ;)
Given the depth of the holes, and the hardness of the material, and given the fact that my mill is a little light in the a.., I have to step them up in 1/16" increments, starting with 3/16"... I haven't timed it real close,...but it seems like forever... :facepalm:

6061 is more like, 1/4" to 1/2" to 5/8" to 23/32" to 47/64"..... Much quicker... :)

Brass is about like the 7075, not because it's hard, but because it likes to grab bits, if you try to take too much at once...

I'm going for Rene41. Couldn't dent that stuff with a sledge.
Meh, I'm not that hard on my mods.

I wonder how machinable sterling silver is? :D

Wait, it's even denser than copper or brass, so a solid sterling mod would be even heavier. :ohmy:

Yep, titanium. :w00t:

Dang, that's gotta be pricey!!!
OK, 1x2x4" is 8 cubic inches. That's 131 cubic centimeters. Silver has a density of 10.5g/cc, so that's ~1375 grams, call it 43 troy ounces. Current spot is ~$15, but you can never buy at spot, so in the end, that's probably $750 worth of silver.

I'm thinking a struck or extruded bar would be better than a cast ingot. Sadly, the 50 oz bars I can find are too thin, so one would probably have to buy a 100 oz bar, and yes, that's gonna be pricey.
