Titanium= super hard.... It is well beyond my reach with my current equipment. I'm really not sure how anyone could do as much machining as we have to do on these things, and not lose their a..
But 7075 aluminum...

Or 7068...

Strength
Weight
Workability

...

Check
Check
Check

;)

And conductivity...

You can't, however it's strength would allow cold rolled sheets into the shape then welded, paper thin walls like my bike (litespeed) welded bottom cap and nice quick screws on top, I can see it in my mind, its beautiful, I don't have the skills to lay down a righteous tig though.

these guys and others do
Weld nuts in the body just below top cap and drill holes in said top cap, insert knurled head fasteners and wallah!

You could make it teeny tiny with the battery right next to the bottle
Sorry off topic, titanium gets me excited,

Hence the reason that no one wants to do Titanium. It's very hard and the machining is very time consuming. Sooooo very expensive to produce a mod. However there are some alternatives to 6061 that provide considerably more strength and conductivity such as 7075 and 7068. The latter being a little more difficult to obtain. But it is obtainable ;)

Really old metallurgical engineer here, just stirring the pot and living the dream. :smokie:

A titanium mod MIGHT be out of reach with your current kit. But maybe not. Machining Ti is really all about tools and feeds and speeds and LOTS of coolant. I've read threads where others (no names - I'm a gentleman) insisted on treating it like it was 6061 and trying to plow through it like they had somewhere to be an hour ago. Very frustrating, I'm sure, but a fun read.

A good reference: https://www.kennametal.com/content/...tanium_material_machining_guide_Aerospace.pdf

If not titanium, how about a nice pattern welded steel (Damascus) squonker?

Not to burst everyone's bubble, but the electrical conductivity of ALL of the precipitation hardenable structural aluminum alloys (virtually all of them) is SO dependent on the specific heat treatment used, that saying any specific alloy is the best is really a crapshoot. Sorry.

Titanium is an especially POOR electrical conductor. It's just cool.:smokie:And I really want a titanium squonker. Even if it needs a copper conductor inside it to compensate for its deficiencies.

it'll get there. My first tmod, I made a fasttech order the same day... the ft order got here first. Auspost seem to hold up the most interesting things longest

Serious post:

Mechanical bottom feed mods are currently, to my eye, the most cutting edge pieces of gear in the vaping world. I couldn't care less about titanium temperature control 200 watt "battery cases" - they're just tools. A handful of artists have accepted the challenge of taking vaping to the next level. I hope to own one or more pieces by every one of these gifted designer/fabricators.

Think I saw someone talking about a version of Demascus steel that didn't have the corrosion issues normally associated with it. It's rather pricey from what I understand.

Stainless/stainless Damascus is a real thing. The pattern is subtle, but just as beautiful as pattern welded carbon steel. Would make a beautiful mod, it would.

For the record, my Damascus Infected Zombie mod doesn't have a spot of corrosion after months of use.
