LOL -- in a previous life (~20 years ago) I used to design power supplies for industrial furnaces. The produced thousands of amps. The output was AC, not DC, but hey...

i'm hopeless with all that stuff for the most part. Did basic electronics in a technical high school and that was about it

basic soldering has seem me very badly knock up some mods, but ugly and not optimal

Before I chose between brass and SS 510 I did some ballpark calculations based on some guesstimates about the dimensions. Came to about one milliohm added resistance with SS. For 10 Amps(.4-ish build) that would add 0.01 Volts to the overall drop.

Probably far from accurate but good enough to not worry about voltage drop when deciding to go for SS.

CeeCee is testing a Thump... she liked the Stumpie she had on before but the top air holes of the Thump seem like a good ideal for an over squonker like me. Great flavour and good cloud production but is this Thump noisy! Oh wow that initial whistle and noisy airflow is going to be annoying!

Wonder if you just rounded off the sharp edge of the inlets a bit by sanding them if that would get rid of the whistle. The torpedo shaped sanding bit for the dremel would be perfect. Then buff smooth...

I'm not really allowed to play with power tools... but I did get a Dremel not so long ago to open my Cyclone's air holes... but I if I close the air holes off just a little and change the drip tip to a wide bore it's a million times better! ;)

Yeah it's a risk with your $80 atty if the sander jumps....wouldn't be hard though and you'd be able to use wide open.

Anyway, do you like the thump? All the top flow attys I've ever tried just don't produce the flavor for me even though people raved they did. Love the top flow for squonking, no leaks ever. Still just hesitant.

I haven't given the Thump enough of a try yet... the whistle and noise made me take it off and try the Manta which is damn nice for flavor and clouds... and for an over squonker like me it's just perfect... not a single drop of juice has touched the mod or my hands in the few hours I have been playing with it. Now that I have been told the tweaks to solve the noise issue with the Thump I will give it another go but I haven't used it enough to give a final verdict. I'm sure it's going to be be pretty good but the Manta is winning hands down at the moment. I'm getting good flavour from the Manta!

My go to atty for my squonkers is the Cyclone (or Divo or Hornet) but that is for mouth to lung with my powerful menthol juice 9mg that I vape 90% of the time. The new lung hitting atties that I'm playing with now I am finally starting to try other juices (3mg) and while I'm really enjoying the new style of vaping I still prefer the Cyclone and menthol for my go to vape.

If all this is true the cc will be a backpackers dream... ;)

I can't fully explain why that is specifically but I think its the truth!!!

If weight in your pack is of concern, you will find the aluminum to be a great choice.

On the other hand, if you want something you can slip into a sock and kill a marauding bear with, go with the brass ;)

OK I have played with both for a few hours and my choice would be the Manta for flavour!
