Looks like a button to me.
Which I'd prefer on my next CC.
I'm a button masher, I guess. I wind up binding up my buttons long before muck should gather and bind them from not plunging perfectly straight and assumably with too much force.

Couple things......
These are only big enough to do a 6-32 thread. I had the new copper bodies done with a smaller hole in the bottom of the battery hole. All the other mods have an 8-32 thread....

He installed one in his mod. He used a piece of wire wrapped around the threads to make a helicoil type o' setup...

I thought that head looked too large for the shank to be wide enough for retrofitting.

There might be a better solution for the 8-32 threaded mods...
Brother pdib used the dead soft silver in a larger diameter, along with a brass nut, to do his. I seems to have worked well.

pro'ly a bit fiddly (tinkerer's approach) for production scale tho.
