I'll add to the pics. Brassy has just been benched for the time being. Its younger, yet equally attractive sibling showed up today. I will say its quite windy out here today with 40mph gusts while i was lining up the gents for a photo shoot the alum was threatening to topple over while the brassy and copper were unfazed :thumb:.

As always Phenomenal work on the Copper Corey!! It is perfect. Well, cept the black stumpy....i'm hoping it will look more in place when it darkens with some patina. Thanks again!

Connex General HP 40, 18' of coax and a browning helical antenna with your SWRs set right. :thumb:

Unless you're going to go with a nice pill box and run power straight off your battery.

Thanks man, I'll check that out. I've been looking at so many options my head is spinning!!
Latest consideration is a Midland 75-822 with a firestik 3' or 4'. I like that it's portable if I need it.

Guess I should post something CC related, so here's BrassC rocking a Dready'ed Vector, T-Mod cap and tip from someone I don't remember!
I originally asked Mark to make the Vector match my Purple Heart Woodvil, but I like it on BrassC more. Those flecks in the finish are from my dumbness and putting it though the ultrasonic cleaner.

Want portable?

Mount that Connex on or under the dash or something using the included hardware.

Get a magnetic base for your browning antenna and run a flat, braided ground wire from it to your chassis. ETA you can attach the ground wire to the chassis with small vice grips for easy removal. /ETA

I'm running the HP 40s little brother, the General Lee... peaked and tuned to almost HP 40 specs... and the little cheap radio guys always whine about me having a "big radio" as if it's got a linear or pill box on it. I get out around 8 miles on most days on regular terrain. Cresting a big hill, I can almost double that.

And volvos are notorious for radio signal trouble.

Fire stick is a decent "base model" antenna. I have one I'm not using. But if you're dead set on it, get the longest you can get.

Flip it. Polish the brass, insert into the Ultem and the refracted light will make the Ultem "glow". Sounds like a win to me. ...Not exactly flipped, keep the Ultem base for contact w/the battery, but I think you know what I mean...a brass core.

Can't wait to see pichers! :thumb:

Did someone say brassy?

There's a couple of others too but brassy is pretty well represented here

Mines the "antiqued" one :)

Notice, symmetry was maintained ;)

Ah,...the sacred symmetry. :D

Nice work, B! I love that picher! :)

Also,...on the Drifter buttons,...I love the idea! It's definitely something I'll be trying, in the future, when time allows. :thumb:

Once again, great idea, Marcus! :toast:
