"Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I <squonked>, I knew such lovely pictures!" - Alex (A Clockwork Orange)
Y E S! The eagle has landed!
It's true, you guys, I've been working on Papa for a while now... but it was inevitable, I believe, and better sooner rather than later.
FWIW my 7068 doesn't darken any faster than the 6061.
My new maintenance regiment has consisted of a few swipes on the scotch-brite each week (I've been a little hard on my mods of late, and have dinged & scratched them up more than usual ) But it takes about 30 seconds to get it looking new again.
Also, that nipple looks really nice...

Secondly, I carry a 6061 and a 7075, everyday, everywhere I go. The 7075 ends up with the dark spots on it, after a few weeks, where the 6061 has never had a dark spot, in a year of carrying it. I assume it's because the 6061 has a very low zinc content, while the 7075 and 7068 have a much higher amount of zinc. ....
I've noticed the dark areas too, and wondering how to clean it up.
Now that you've brought it up, ...any suggestions ?? ... I'm thinking the scotch-brite, and a coat of wax
Never thought the Aluminum would act like the Copper and Brass
But if the same goes for all, I've got what I need.

I sometime polish mine with some Mother's mag... go easy if you want to keep the brushed finish, but I find it shines it up real nice and makes it feel so smooth! Seems like it takes longer to darken (for me). But it's a little messier and takes a bit longer than the scotch-brite.

Well since Beck wants 27 of 'em and a few others are in as well, you should have no problem selling fifty mods. :D
I don't think I'll be helping any in bringing any prices down, unfortunately.

I have very specific needs.

I'd be in for a 6061! Absolutely. I will own a BrassC at some point, but as #2 a second aluminum would probably see more use. And $350 would be an absolute steal!

I can vouch for the 6061 being plenty bulletproof. Mines taken many a spill onto the floor and only has minor scratching. I have mostly wood floors and some carpet however... :pervy:

It took quite a while to darken up initially. Then my girlfriend (lovely) decided to wash it (bless her heart) since she thought the dark spots were grease, with a Dawn filled scotch brite dish wand (run away CC, run away!).

I cleaned it up with a 3k grit sanding pad since, but now it darkens up really fast :(

@Waho , I would hit her with some scotch brite,... the mod,...not your GF... :D

Then follow up with some renaissance wax,... again,.....the mod, not your GF.......Unless she's into it......
