Just a little shout out to Corey for the silver screws and the silver tipped +contact pins for my Reo's... :headbang::toast::vapor:

I have 1 converted so far, (haven't ran #'s yet), been vaping it for an hour or so and there is a definite difference so far. I should first say the battery I had in my Grand was @ 3.5v when I finished the install and I must say I felt no need to put in a fresh battery right away. An hour later it was @ 3v so I changed it... Holy :censored:!! The next coils in this will be in the mid 3Ω range for sure...

I'm running the O-16 on top w/ dual 24g A1 2.5mm .26Ω / RxW inside. It is definitely hitting harder than my other Grand w/ same atty but with dual 26g Ni80 2.5mm .29Ω / RxW inside and the battery in it was @ 3.8v...

A couple observations so far... I will get back in a day or so with voltage drop #'s...

Not an instantaneous firing as beckdg mentioned he gets with his conversion, but not as delayed as the standard contacts...

Button push is much heavier, comparable to the HD Reo contacts...

I will be starting to build somewhere in the mid 3Ω range to start with from now on as .26Ω is a scorcher to say the least @4.2v...

For anyone wanting to do this also, I will advise you that it wasn't cheap to do firstly and you better know a thing or two about Ω's law, battery, and device safety... Proceed with caution...

Tools needed for conversion was...
Dremel w/ a grinding stone and a standard cordless drill
8-32 tap and #29 Jobber Drill - 1ea
#8 F/W - 1ea
#8 Neoprene F/W - 2ea

Pics to follow....

ETA... Forgot to give a shout out to @beckdg for the idea to convert my Reo's...:headbang: Thanks... btw, I found something better than brass for the negative contact!!! Pricey, but much better...
I should have known.[emoji38]

Torching? o_O

It does change color when I pulse it, yep. Wick n' vape ;) yer in for a real treat IMHO!
Thank you sir.

I always torch my wire before coiling. Removes machine oil and makes it more malleable. You pulse in place. Same thing but, doesn't get the machine oil on the legs which I've tasted before using that method. And there's the added benefit of being easier to coil.

Must say, not a fan of the discoloration...I trust ya Sloth.

I'll try it sooner or later. So happy with current setup though....

Question for you all. I have been looking to get my lady a Nuppin' for her CC as she is jealous of mine but they are impossible to find! There are a couple of Derringers for sale in the classies at a decent price. Those of you that have a Derringer, are you happy with them? My lady is a single coil 1.0 ohm MTL tootle type puffer so not sure if the Derringer would be overkill.
Thoughts welcomed!

Thanks for the input PW. that's what I kind of thought. She currently uses a REO RM2 atty which she likes but it seems like we are always fiddling with the connection as it misfires. She will push the button and it fires right up then a few seconds later nothing. Takes off the CC top cap, puts it back on and voila fires right up. I have tried adjusting the 510 pin in the RM2 and also the CC numerous times and cranked the atty down tight, cleaned the CC surfaces & magnet holes and still some misfires. I don't have that issue with my Nuppin so I figured I'd try getting her another atty. Didn't know they made Nuppin' 'clones"!

Kanthal does the same thing though, just not as fast (discoloration). I always pulsed my kanthal until it had that bluish look.

I get why people torch - I pulse then rinse and never taste machine oil. I'd be pulsing anyway to ensure a glow center out so that's why I just pulse. I just made that o_O face 'cause SS is so easy to work with already. I feel ya though, just playin :)

I love the Derringer, but even closed down to1 air hole it's not as tight as she might like. I'd get her a chalice or something similar. Or get her the nippin clone (yes, it's been cloned).

I see a nuppin clone @ focal Ecig that's 22mm.

Any clones at least the right size?

Origen Little? Super easy to build, small chamber, and great for single or dual coils. It's not super cheap, but they are available.

Yes, the Origen is a contender. Right now I gave her my old Hornet to use for awhile. I love that little guy. I have had it on my mini backup beater. I put an ad in the wanted classies for a Nuppin', maybe I might get lucky but won't hold my breath!!:pop:
Thanks for the input folks.
