Currently debating if I wanna leave my thump on my cc, or plop on my ChiNarDa or a Maker. Love those atties.

Looks like I need more squonkers. Like a dual 18650. AhemCOREYahem

I switch out the NarDa and the Hype (M-Atty clone), which is much quicker now with the new 510. For me, the NarDa wins, but I've never tried the Thump.

i thought nichrome was like dropping one gauge from kanthal? Just something i thought the bee said a while back, but i may be mistaken.

The SS is interesting and i might have to try some myself when the coiling urge next strikes.

Yes, you are right. It has slightly lower resistance than A1 Kanthal. The SS is a considerable drop though.

I'm surprised by the thump. Vapes nicely. Picked one up from mt. Baker. Had them on sale for $52 with shipping. Real easy to bottom feed if you have a drill press.

Great pic!

You could also try nichrome or SS. Nichrome is pretty equivelant to kanthal as far as resistance, the SS is about half the resistance so you need to adjust your build but the flavor is very clean.

thanks! Went to the 26ga Kanthal at .42 ohm. Better.

Before i ended up with the 26 Kanthal I tried 26 Ga SS at 2.5 mm. Came out to .23....I got skeered.

The Origen isn't sqounking right though. CC's fine but, once it gets to the Origen it starts kinda coming out the side of the center post. I stuck some wire up the hole to clear out anything. Maybe I over tightened the post when I put it in...

Anyway, it's heating much better now.

thanks guys!

Don't be skeered....resistance with SS goes up as it's heating then kinda maxes out. It's really pretty cool how it works with a mech

Very true, like it has built in temp control, kinda. .23 may still be quite warm in the Origen, works pretty well in an atty with more airflow though.

My dad used to program in Cobol for the Air Force. I can remember him bringing home 6" stacks of code to try and debug.

This was around 1984...so I'm not sure about anything from that period [emoji848] But I do remember taking a fortran class that we had to use punch cards.

Remember what those punch cards got used for afterwards?
