A question for the CC veterans - what type of batteries do you use? This will be my first mech mod and I spent quite a bit of time familiarizing myself with mech/battery safety before making the plunge. My go-to batteries for all my mods are LG HG2 and I plan on using them with my CC when I receive it. I typically build at around 1 ohm and don't sub-ohm very often. Are there any batteries other than the HG2 that I should consider?
Mooch seems to like the Sony vtc6.

I think 3000mah @ 18 amps.

Extra run time.

Mooch's current favorite battery is the Sony VTC5a 25amp 2500mah.
Here is a must watch interview with Mooch by Dean the vaping biker.

I doubt he'd recommend that for a 1 ohm build where you could make use of the extra capacity with a massive leeway built into the load.

He's very practical that way.

Though, yes, he does love the vtc5a for loads over 20 amps.

If you're capable of extrapolating the info in this video, it would help to ascertain a better understanding of how to choose a better battery for your application.

I maintain that for a 1 ohm or higher vaper, even the old 10 amp, 3000mah Panasonic battery would out perform any battery over 20 amps continuous on the market today.

They'll hit harder longer because the tiny load won't exploit the internal resistance causing sag.

The extra capacity will shine allowing the battery to maintain a higher voltage longer. (A more consistent, longer lasting vape.)

Can anyone tell me why Mooch is giddy over the vtc5a and if it poses any advantages in a 1 ohm vaping application?

Can anyone tell me, in a dead short situation, which would be the better battery to have installed and why?

Options are:
Hb6
Hb2
30q
25r
AW 22 amp
Any Sony vtc
10A, 3000mah Panasonic

Beck, just funnin ya. No offense meant if you took it that way.

I've only shorted AWs on cheap mech clones early on in my vaping journey. I honestly couldn't tell ya. NEVER had a problem in the CC. Knock on head.

Mooch says flat out in his answer to choose a 10A, 3400mAh battery for ohm+ vaping.

I agree. As Mooch points out, it's always a compromise between amp rating & battery life, you just have to find the right battery for your vaping style/build.
I think he just considers the vtc5a the best all around battery.
Based on the OP's stated requirements, the vtc6 (or 30Q) is a better option. Mooch also points out in both videos that his opinion of the HG2 has changed since his initial testing. He suspects that the current HG2's in the market may be lower bin (grade) versions. Personally I own both vtc5a & vtc6.
