I think its gonna take more than prayer for some of that!!! How can anyone let their device come close to looking like that? Especially one that costs that much!! Blasphemy...

Lol... I'll own up to the copper and brass being mine. Those are only like three weeks removed from a full DIY spa treatment. I sent them to Corey for a master restoration before they go off to new homes. I want their new owners to receive as close to new condition mods as possible.

Both of those mods were used hard and never babied. I did maintain them regularly though.

Hey, decor! :)

You can use a superfine sandpaper, like 4 or 5k grit, on the contact. Also, you can use metal polish and a q-tip. You should then apply some no-ox-id conductive grease to the contact points.

Yikes. I'd never use abrasives, not even 5k grit, to remove tarnish on silver, copper or brass. Many more gentle options.

I normally use Nevr-dull on copper and brass and have since boot camp.
Ketchup works great in a pinch.

For silver though I'd use Blitz https://www.blitzinc.com/products/silver-care-polish/

Tarn-X is another good choice. Not for decorative silver, but for industrial stuff like a mod's contacts it's great.

He's not talkin' about tarnish here, buddy. He's talkin' about a carbon buildup from arcing. Some have found that chemical alone is not enough, in worst case scenarios...

5k paper isn't that abrasive, but usually it is just enough to completely remove the black spot.

Following that up with a good metal polish, followed by no-ox-id is a good way to slow it down. :)

The CC & Atty photos have been great, I'm looking forward to 2017 and my purchase of a CC Dually, great work Corey.

I allow my Bronze and Brass Mods to naturally patina on the outside, a cosmetic preference and personal choice, I don't consider it blasphemous. I do a full cleaning of the inner portion on a weekly basis, and wipe the insides whenever I change Batteries or refill my juice bottle.

My current B-F Mods have copper contacts and I use a Fiber scratch pen for cleaning carbon build-up, plus they the fit in my shirt pocket when I'm working and they need a quick rub down.
