Those are gorgeous mods, the copper one is beyond awesome. I hate working with copper, I can't blame you in the least for not wanting to produce them.
What mini-mill are you running? I keep getting talked out of getting one, and my Bridgeport and Enco are both in storage for a while yet, so I've been jonesing to get my hands on something to work with. I move to the country to get away from the city, but then they start building a 5000 acre amusement park just a couple miles away. No way I'm staying after it opens, so no reason to build a shop here... I need something to help me take care of my machining urges. Lol.

Thanks! Although,... that's pretty standard of the initial shaping/ deburring... when I do the final shaping and finishing, some of the round over will be lost... There's still a few thousandths to be had there.....

Ok, the LMS, I think they take the Grizzly and update it with better parts. If it does work like you are turning out, they must do more than people tell me. Or you are one heck of a machinist. Probably both.
Both of mine are projects that turned out well. I used to own a little job shop and the Bridgeport was retired in a back corner. I got her all cleaned up and refurbished to be like new. Made in '56 or '58, back when they were built to last forever. The Enco was a badly handled cnc conversion that I intend to fix and update when I get the chance. Still a good mill, but nothing like the Bridgeport. That one built a few engines that set some records for me.

I'm definitely pushing the limits of this mill though. That copper mod was pretty well beyond it's capabilities... It is indeed the same machine as the Grizzly, for the most part. Just that it has a 500 watt brushless motor, solid column, belt drive, air spring, R8 spindle, and a slightly bigger table...
Here's a couple pichers of it...
I'm currently on the hunt for a bigger mill. Just not sure I can justify a Brigeport for what I'm doin'...
Hey CC, I would love to see some short clips of you making one at various stages. Very interesting stuff. I grew up working with wood, but never metal.

That's a nice set up there. And you turn out some sweet work with them.
Yea, the Bridgeport takes up a lot of space, and 3 phase power isn't always easy or cheap to get outside of commercial shops, but when you are boring and surfacing big block engines, you kinda need the size. There are some decent knee mills running around between an old Series 1 and a mini-mill in size. They are still 700+ lbs though.
2 land speed (one on the salt and one on the Texas mile) 5 in drag racing and one in a stadium truck. They were all class records, nothing as big as overall fastest or anything.
I got a call from my daughter this afternoon. She tells me the AC isn't blowin' cold air. She tells me it's 84 degrees in the house... I'm thinkin', great, just what we need. The heat index was somewhere around 108 at the time. So, I hurry home, grab my meter, and head out to take a look...
I pull the access panel off the condensing unit, and this is what I find...
Thank God,.... it's just the capacitor...
I actually had one on the shelf.
Much better! 5 minutes worth of work, and she's good as new!
Crisis averted!!!

Glad the a/c turned out to be an easy fix.
I've said I would never pay more than $100 for a mod since I started vaping, but you mods are nice. You have me thinking here... Even more so since I put my shop on hold...

It's an affliction, I'm tellin' ya...
In all honesty, I wish I didn't have to charge so much for these mods. When you figure the dollar per hour though,..... it's a very modest wage. Let's just say my day job pays a lot better.

I know what you mean. I don't think your price would be enough to get me to build them, and I'm used to big machines that cut faster. I can only imagine how long it takes on a small mill.
Between finishing my Nova and a couple other projects, I've been spreading myself pretty thin. Maybe in a couple of months I will be able to spare something to throw at a really high end mod.

Wait time is increasing every dayI can stand a little wait. I just want to make sure I've got cash in hand and a healthy reserve for emergencies before I commit to anything. It wasn't that long ago that I ordered $18k worth of parts for my Nova, and within the next week my girlfriend's car broke a timing belt, her son's car lost the clutch and my Audi lost the fuel pump. Cost me a lot of extra money to pull a few bucks out of a retirement account to make ends meet. If something like that happened again, the mod would end up costing me well over a grand. With my luck, worst case scenario is just too likely to happen. Plus, once the Nova is going, I can talk trash on a few car sites and come up with spending money really quick. Lol, that's one place I usualy seem to have good luck.Tex, if you're really interested in one of CC's mod you'd better get in line.
I don't mind waiting either. Besides going way overboard on my now non-existent vaping budget, other things have come up to turn the rest of my budget on it's head. So, by the time I can put my name on the list, if it's a few month's wait, so be it. Just consider me a future customer.
