Thank you very much for going out of your way like that! :thumb:

For those who don't know,...Mickey P made sure I would be getting a CM 521 Tab, even though usps tried to keep that from happening... Just awesome, buddy!

Alright, folks,...full report time...

I wanted to share this, in hopes that it may help someone. If it saves just one mod!!!...... :D

So,...what we had here, was a seizure of the button. I'm talkin',...the button was completely stuck, in the up position. Would not depress, at all. This is what I found......

Some juice had seeped in around the button. That juice had then dried, and become sticky like glue. I poured some alcohol around the button and let it sit for a few minutes. The alcohol slowly seeped in around the button, and loosed the bond, created by the juice.... I was then able to free the button from the button hole.

I try to fit the buttons with a slim tolerance so that there's very little play. I'd hate for the button to seem wobbly.... As a result of this slim tolerance, the button and button hole must be kept clean, preferably with alcohol and a Q-tip, followed by your favorite metal polish or wax, on a regular basis. How regular a basis, will depend on you're particular situation. I do mine about once every 2 weeks or so... However,... if your button starts to feel a little "sticky", that'd be a good time to do it.

I should think that something like Simichrome metal polish would work great, especially on brass.

So,...here she is,...ready for the trip home, first thing in the morning...

I'm hung out there pretty far, financially,... with 6061, 7075, and now brass. The onesie, twosie stuff is behind us.... (us, as in me and Robert, my machinist buddy)... I do have pricing from him for 7068. It is considerably higher than 7075, and that's with me supplying the material,...which, of course, is also considerably higher....

I've not ruled it out, but the MOQ (minimum order quantity) would be 25 units... That's a lot o' cash for me..... I'm spread a little thin, at the moment..... I really need to concentrate on filling the orders I have, in the materials I'm having them made from,... for a while, before I make that kind of commitment to other materials...

I'm just not sure that many people would wanna pay what I'd have to charge to do 7068, and make it worth doing... IDK...

First world problems, and all....

So, I guess Limpet teeth is out of the equation then

Just to let everyone one know, the mod was my 7075, and Corey has wonderful customer service, I thought I had been cleaning it, I will definitely keep some alcohol on hand now. Live and learn, Thanks again Corey for all your help. The picture above does not look like my 7075.
