Any one else's CC very picky about batteries? Anything button tip auto fires as do VTC5... 25r's are fine... Just looking to hear everyone else's experience s
Yes. My vct5s auto fire.. I'm constantly fiddling with the firing pin. Im on second firing pin now . Corey had been awesome and very helpful, I'm just not adept enough to properly adjust it I think.
I think I may have fiddled with it so much it's not hitting right now. What batteries would do better?

The LG HG2's are a little shorter. I hear the Sammy's are, as well.

You can always ship it back to me and I can set it up for whatever batteries you like. No charge, of course. :)

Another option is to send you a button with a thinner bottom flange. That will also increase the throw.

Just let me know what you want me to do, buddy. Seriously, I'd be happy to work on it for you.

BTW,...how's the leg healing up?

@sqonker

Weird... I have the stock "unsanded" silver firing pin, I have mostly 25r's, but still have a few old vtc 4s and 5s in rotation... since I received my mod, never had vtcs auto fire...

But... on the last page, did you see Corey's post about sanding down the top part of the silver pin? It'll help you for sure

Thanks Corey.. That's awesome. You've already been so helpful I hate to bother you and ask for more. I'll keep trying and if I cant get it I may send it in. The leg is healing, I still have two and half months of no driving and no weight bearing though. I did get a scooter so at least I'm out of the wheel chair now. Thanks

I've used mainly vtc5s in mine with no issues. Also used the 25R's. I've heard good things about the new green 25's. Also been wanting to give the HG's a try. Guess the main reason I haven't is I've got plenty of batteries ;)

I'm glad you're healing up, my friend. Hang in there, buddy! :)

Seriously though, I hate the idea of your mod not working for you. I'll cover the shipping both ways, as well.

Send. It. To. Me. :D :mail:

That goes for you too, D99. If you need/want me to work on yours, I'll be happy to. I take for granted sometimes that these little mods are easy to work on and make adjustments on. Not for everyone though. No worries! I'm here to help; not just to sell mods. :D

I love hearing how quick you are to help out and have mods sent in, BUT....

.......NO WAY I could live without my brassy for any amount of time, that's just me though, I was patient waiting for my time to come.. now it won't ever leave my hands. :)

It really does suck that some batteries are causing auto fires.. batteries do need to be standardized... one standard height would suffice

The thing is,...there was a time when I was making it to where the throw was long, just to be on the safe side.... I had a few people tell me the throw was excessive. Not only do you have differing battery lengths to contend with, there's also personal preference... Since there's no spring to take up any slack, the dimensions become more critical.

I decided to start sending 'em out with a short throw, because it's easier for a person to lengthen the throw than it is to shorten it.

There are 3 things that come into play with button throw, aside from the battery length... The thickness of the negative contact, the silver nub on the back side on the positive contact, and the thickness of the button flange. It's easy to remove material to lengthen the throw. It's a little harder to add material back, once removed, in order to shorten the throw, so I send 'em out short...

I can always make adjustments, if someone needs me to, in either direction. :thumb:

Rossum know's what I'm talkin' 'bout...:D

He had an elegant solution to shorten his button throw on his copper mod. He removed the negative contact screw, and put a little brass washer under the head to act as a spacer. Shortened his throw right up. :thumb:
