Not purple? :?:
Correct. Not purple.

Not gray. Not black. Not white. Not anything except brushed aluminum.

As far as I can tell, its appearance has not changed at all since I got it, roughly a month ago.

I've done nothing to it except put a coat of Renaissance Wax on it when I first got it, and vape it.

Conclusion: If you want something that stays looking spiffy with minimal effort, get 7075.

Quick question. I feel like this has been mentioned a couple of times but I also have the memory of a goldfish

For the Renaissance wax, would I have to use a specific polishing cloth to apply it, or could I use a simple microfiber sorta cloth? Also do you clean off the residual wax after?

I'm also assuming that it's used only for the body of the mod; and deoxit gold for the contacts and where top piece of the mod joints the body

Damn. Rossum's copper cc with patina is actually beautiful.
You guys gotta understand something about those pics... The patina only looks brightly colored like that when the light hits it at a certain angle. I'll try to get a more realistically representative picture of it tomorrow.

Sounds just like what I tell the women I meet.

"I honestly look quite good when the light hits my face at a certain angle"

I swear, mine just gets shinier the more I handle it. My old 6061 is damn near polished, at this point...:)

I wonder if it's a body chemistry thing? I seem to recall some people have reported graying of their aluminum CeeCees with use.

I'm still baffled why my Copper stays bright coppery looking in those places where it regularly comes into contact with my skin, but no amount of rubbing it with the same fingers in the areas where it does patina has much of an effect on the patina....

Classic case of "my kid is better than yours" [emoji317]

When Corey was posting pictures from my batch, the only thing I could think of was how much better mine seem to look hahahahahahah

Except wiping it I haven't done one bit of maintenance on my brass CC since I got it, just let nature do its thing. And I think I will only do some serious cleaning when I get a large scratch. The patina does a good job covering up the small rifts. It looks classy, a classier custom classic. :toast:

As for cleaning the battery/squonk hole the maintenance kit for my shotguns works well with that woolly thingy attached to the end of the cleaning rod. 12 gauge is just a tad wider than 18mm.
