OK. Some confusion on my part. mod is actually brass which is what I had indicated was my desired material when Corey ask. Guess he had another special project that is the copper one or attached the wrong picture in the thread. I couldn't be more pleased.

I spent part of my time off, making this for JP. As he said, 6 very generous people, chipped in, to cover expenses. I was going to donate the labor, but JP insisted on helping to cover some of that.

confusion resolved. It was a elderly thing I guess. I was reading on page two of this thread where Corey posted a picture of Rossums copper mod and stated it was ready and the owner could reveal information if he chose to. With all that happened today I was so excited when I saw that I forgot I was on page 2 and responded accordingly thinking it was mine.

Thanks Nauti. All prayers are appreciated. Still jolted by the news but starting to accept it. Had 69 good years in life with no major issues so can't complain. Doc says I have 3-5 yrs with treatment before I go downhill so have a lot to look forward to.

That's what I was suspecting, about the arcing, so thanks for chiming in. I think I'll be keeping on with the noalox on my battery tops for the extra protection. I don't know if it's just me but I'm noticing more arcing "scorches" on my HG2 battery tops, even with noalox. Almost like these battery tops are maybe made with a material that scorches easier than other batteries I've used, mainly AW 1600's. I'm having to lightly sand them on a regular basis to keep them clean.

On a reo I presume?

On mine with fresh noalox, I couldn't see it happen. But it didn't mitigate the damage noticeably more than deoxit.

After doing the upgraded contacts and all the low voltage drop modifications, the only thing that stopped eating up my batts was my solid copper post.

Better batteries will arc more. They're capable of a higher burst of current upon contact.

I like NO-OX-ID, as opposed to Noalox. It's a conductive grease.

Does this replace noalox only or also deoxit? On which parts do you use it?

Hey, Aal!

I use it on the threads of the brass screw that is the negative contact. I use Deoxit Gold on the face of both the negative and positive contacts. The No-Ox-Id can be used in place of Deoxit, though it is a little messier, though not as messy as Noalox. I think anyone who's having arcing at the positive contact, should try the No-Ox-Id, at the positive contact. It can be used at any electrical contact. It's good stuff.

It's incredible! Didn't think it would be so tiny and light. And the way the top section just attaches onto the body. The throw of the button is perfect. Ohhhhh boy ohhhhh boy.

I'm a very VERY happy bird right now.
