That little spot of blackness must be eradicated upon first sight, lest it grow into a moldy plankton deposit which overcomes your CC mod...if this happens, your juice will never taste the same again...

Glad you got yours sorted, Kiwi! Anything from 2000 grit to 5000 grit sandpaper is great for removing the little black spot. Some deoxit or no-ox-id is great for slowing it's return.

Also, one could file a flat spot on their positive contact to increase the surface area that contacts the battery. Brother pdib did this with his CC, and it has helped a lot on the super low builds that he likes.

Copper has arrived... Derringer cap is bit darker than the CC. I'm guessing CC will catch up quickly. Better pics tonight if I have time.

I've noticed that when this happens, a tad bit of juice has leaked out of the delrin insulator and has dispersed itself onto the washers and positive connection area.

Im using a CAM Thump that is bottomed out and the delrin is backed out a turn or two. It's not a lot of juice, mind you, but more like a single drop. It takes a while for it to build up too.

I just remove and wipe down the nut, washers, and positive contact, dab some Deoxit red on them, and put her back into service. I think it's happened twice in about a month and a half.
