Also, if there is any build up, under the cap or on the top rim of the body, it can affect the way the two come together.
One more thing... When I sand these down, the edges of the top rim of the body, and the under side of the cap are sharp. This makes for a seamless look. After some time, from handling, taking the cap off and on,...the edges start to soften (become less sharp), so the line between cap and body becomes more evident.

Snigger. Dropped my top cap/piece(?) last night and it ended up making a tiny dent which protrudes at the body/top piece interface. You should've seen me go into mega panic mode.
Gonna use the weekend to sloooowly file it down. Merp. Wish me luck!
