Also, if there is any build up, under the cap or on the top rim of the body, it can affect the way the two come together.

One more thing... When I sand these down, the edges of the top rim of the body, and the under side of the cap are sharp. This makes for a seamless look. After some time, from handling, taking the cap off and on,...the edges start to soften (become less sharp), so the line between cap and body becomes more evident.

Hope that makes sense.

Snigger. Dropped my top cap/piece(?) last night and it ended up making a tiny dent which protrudes at the body/top piece interface. You should've seen me go into mega panic mode.

Gonna use the weekend to sloooowly file it down. Merp. Wish me luck!

These are the only ones I have to show for today...

My 17yo son's new ride!!!

He actually saved more than half of the money for it, himself.

I helped him out a little, but he insists on paying that back.

He's a great kid.

Damn, I'd love to have that truck! I used to have '97 Yukon, loved that thing but it was a two door and with three kids and all their friends we wound up trading it in for a minivan in 2004. Very nice ride, especially for a first! Lucky kid!

Finally, I got it together
Had an interesting first try
Put my brass stumpy on, filled the bottle, dropped a battery in and POOF .. the wick created a nice fire, as the coil burned brightly... constant contact !!
My next step would of been to squonk it, but never got that far
I yanked the top off, and decided these things do NOT take a "button" top battery.
Put the RM2 on, replaced the button top with a flat top battery, and all is well
Vapes like a dream
Need to go re-wick the stumpy now

Sorry about the button top thing... I thought I had that dialed in...

I use Sony VTC5's and LG HG2's. Both are flat tops.

Now if I can get my machinist to cooperate,......I'll be able to get started on your 7068, in the very near future.
