Hey J_B, nice pick up, congrats and welcome :)

Yup, that's pretty much it. The 510 insulator will come out but that's not necessary. Some brasso will clean up the vented screw, washers and nut nicely (make sure to get all of it out if it gets into the screw, I blow it out with a syringe of hot water) followed by alcohol and deoxit and you should be good to go. Here's a great video that includes maintenance by everybody's favorite sloth...

Too easy, thanks, should have this thing hitting as well as it looks in no time. :thumb:

One thing to warn you about before you do that :danger:

Once you hit it, your going to want another... and another... and another... ;)

Yep can see that happening, love the button, feel in the hand and ease of use/maintenance.

I hate to break it to you but from what you just said, it's already happened.

Once you get to know Corey and the rest of the family, it just seals the deal.

Welcome to the family.

Picked up a 2nd hand CC for a good price, still looks fantastic but definitely some cleaning needed for the internals. Is this as far as it comes apart and should I be right to just use alcohol and some deoxit contact cleaner?

Hey, JB! Welcome, Indeed! :)

B is correct, as usual. :thumb:

I would add this.....

You see the positive contact on the left??? Those are the "factory" bends... You'll wanna reestablish those bends, so that the contact puts the appropriate amount of upward pressure on the underside of the button. This should be done periodically.

Also, make sure you put some heat shrink, and/or silicone tubing on that positive contact, so you don't end up with a short.
If you need anything, just let me know. :toast:

Yours or D_B's.

3 Henley (including mine)
4 pocket tees (3 from Rossum alone)

1 white shirt. Nauti, I believe that unicorn is all yours. And the wife and my buddy both commented how sharp it looked.

Thanks for that, hadn't even thought of that and mine is looking a little flat so will sort that out. Tubing was still intact thankfully so just gave it a clean and put it back on. Thanks for the welcome also. :)

Cleaning is done and what a huge difference it has made, that negative contact in particular was extremely dirty, both on the screw and the threads on the mod. Now it has gone from underwhelming to overwhelming, loving it.
