Henry Etta has a really good method for keeping the aluminum shiny. I believe it involves a metal polish, followed by Ren. Wax. Hopefully she'll come along and share it. :)

I also believe that Rossum uses Semichrome metal polish, followed by Ren. Wax....

Lots of ways to skin that cat. :thumb:

Recently I've been using the Scotch Brite only when I need to remove scratches (which is less often on the 7068). I use Mother's Mag, but you have to be careful because if you go at it too much, you'll end up with a super shiny fingerprint magnet. I just do a light polishing, rub it off with a clean rag, and I've been skipping the Ren Wax. It feels SO smooth, and for some reason doesn't seem to oxidize as quickly, for me. I don't know if other types of metal polish would work the same. Also, weirdly enough, when I first got my 7067, it got black spots within 2-3 days. Now it takes at least 2 weeks... I don't know if it's my method (polish and no wax), or if she just needed some time to get to know me...

I love my blackish new cc mod.
Tried to clean it with a Mr clean magic eraser but no luck. What do you recommend? Also noticed when I was swapping batteries that damn little black spot on the contact, but I got that to go away.

Give it a little time... both my 6061 and 7068 seemed to blacken very quickly at first, but then after a week or two it slowed way down. Try different methods (scuff pads, metal polishes, Ren Wax, etc) and see what works best for you. I've read that the rate of oxidation (I think that's what's happening when it turns black??) has to do with body chemistry, so something might work for you that doesn't for someone else.

I've been on this quest for a while, as the only thing that bugs me about this mod is the blackening. Otherwise, still my very favorite mod of all time.

Hehe nice to meet you Henry Etta :)
Hey there Aal... seen you around a few different haunts. I don't post too much (I'm a little shy, and also have a pretty foul mouth and inappropriate sense of humor). But I did recently change my avi so people would stop calling me "man" and "buddy". I guess that's what I get with a name like Henry. (Those that know me call me Hank!)

Henry I do know you from a really long time and from different threads as well long before this one :D.

The nice to meet you is referring to me knowing that you are a lady for the first time [emoji15] [emoji5]

Well, I don't know if I'd go so far as to say I'm a "lady"... ;)

Happy Friday everyone!! Hope all is well and your favorite CC is loaded up with the good stuff. Mine sure are.

Cheers to Friday!! :toast:

You know, my aluminum exhibited the same thing. I scotch-brited it once but I kinda like the darker color it gets when used so I'm leaving it nekkid, for now. Same with Brass-c, love the patina. Thanks again Corey, I friggin love these things...

Corey, just wanted to thank you for the new tubing you sent with my 7068. I had a chance to finally install them today and WOW, just WOW. The bigger ID makes squonking and draining so much better than the old tubing included with the original Italian bottles. It's also a tighter fit on the metal cap, so these tubes seem to be a perfect match for these Italian bottles.

Also installed both silver negative screws in the brassies and that made a noticeable difference in the vape hit/quality.

Makes me love my CC's even more if that's possible :)

Awesome picher, buddy! :)

I'm glad you are enjoying 'em. :thumb:

Also, I agree with Marcus. Great vid, Sloth! :D

Not tryna brag but Er....... The silver negative contact has travelled 2 oceans and arrived in Singapore!!!!!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So,....i guess it was cool that I listed it on the customs paperwork that it was a silver vaping screw, for a vaping device, so as to make the vaping device produce much more vapor..... :vapor:

Glad it made it to you ok, buddy! :D

That's great, buddy! I'm glad you got the silver contacts installed! :)

I agree on the new tubing, as well. Much tighter fit in the ss cap. A little stiffer, too. :thumb:

Most of those that follow this thread already know, but I have to gush a little. I don't really have anything to say that hasn't been said, but, dang, if this isn't the best mod I've used. IMO it's the epitome of high end. It's not just that it looks absolutely stunning or that all the best materials are used, it's also the best in business customer service that's provided. I think as highly of Corey as I do of this mod. All the great members here are part of that too. If someone posts a question and Corey is offline having a life or making these beauties, there's two or three folks with a well informed in depth answer.

So a big thank you to Corey and all of you wonderful folks!!

I've already started the process of selling off most my other mods so I can buy another (or three).
